They can't cook the food was nasty. I ordered ackee and saltfish there wasn't any saltfish and 6 pods of ackee, the rice was stale and they cooked with cheap prefluff rice. The box smelt funny and old like mothballs. The curry goat was disgusting and full of pepper, no flavouring, just bone, fat gristle. The saltfish pattie tasted just like Greg's pastie and the in side looked like cat food. Even the beef pattie did too with no meat at all, both were just thick yellow pastry with mud inside. I wouldn't even call it food it was very soggy but overall the rice was the worst for me because it stunk and was completely stale i had tobthrow it all in the bin. Considering I spent £30 for just 2 meals and 2 patties it was a complete waste of money for stale soggy cat looking food. The £9.50 portion of food is less than what i would give to my 5 year old, it disgusting how they manage to stay open is beyond me. They need reporting to food safety and hygiene standards cause they have zero of that for...
Read moreI would honestly give this "restaurant" 0 stars if I can. The food we ordered was NOT doubles and I'm not sure how they can even call it that. I should've seen from the beginning that a restaurant just posing as "Caribbean cuisine" with all the flags of every Caribbean Island can't be specialised in any one type of Caribbean cuisine. How dare you give me, a TRINIDADIAN, that abomination that you call a doubles? The barra was terrible, the channa was hard and it had potato in it. There was no chutney, no kuchella, no sweet sauce, just bland nothingness. It was honestly a disgrace. I took one bite and had to throw the entire thing away, which I normally don't do because I hate wasting food but this was outrageous. If this is what you serve to the general public please don't call it "Trinidadian" doubles because it certainly was not. The only saving grace was the Carib beer they had available. Avoid this place...
Read moreGreat little spot for authentic Trinidadian roti. We ordered 2 portions of roti with jerk chicken with the tamarind sauce. There was only 2 pieces of plantain left so we threw that in aswell. We also ordered peanut cake and gizzarda for dessert. The rotis were very nice and full of flavour and definitely worth the money.
The portions sizes are huge and they definitely fill you up. The plantain was really overriped so it didn’t taste very good. But overall the food tasted really good. The peanut drops were good and the gizzarda was great, I really enjoyed it.
The service was kind, friendly and fast, and the food was really hot when we got it. I really like the decoration in the shop, the money notes from different country’s and the national emblems. I definitely recommend visiting this shop as they have a...
