Islington Ecology Centre — Attraction in London

I had a long day at work I had been working since 7am and it was a match day, I work retail at a Tesco and had a paticularly bad day. I asked an older lady from the centre if she could kindly open the gate for me as I live in the street that overlooks the nature reserve and have done for the past 20 years. She made a face at me and said 'find another way around' but let in a lady because her partner volunteered at the ecology centre. She also said all the gates were closed but when I finally arrived at my street I saw that the gates were open. It doesn't take much to be kind to someone, kindness is a virtue. I'm very upset from this experience and at the entitlement of some people. I wonder..Would she have let me in if...

I attended the Islington Ecology Centre for the ‘Free’ Tree Walk event that allows you to explore the beauty of nature up close and personal. It was insanely inspiring and Islington Tree Officer and ecology specialist from Centre were hugely knowledgeable. I learned loads about different tree species, their importance to the environment. The group was rather large but it was incredibly well managed. It's was a great way to spend time in such a beautiful nature reserve and connect with nature and with other curious minded people. Amazing little oasis in the middle of the city. What used to be the old rail yards has been transformed into a wooded area with a pond, some fields, and plenty of interesting places to explore.

Well worth a visit...
