can not believe the experience we just had at this cafe called Broccoli in Finsbury Park. they advertise themselves as gluten free and vegan friendly yet they couldnât care less. my friends GF and DF which we told them in the beginning and end of us ordering. she ordered a chicken sausage as an add on to the shukshuka and said âas long as evrything is gf and df then thatâs fineâ. half way through eating she realised something was wrong. we asked if the sausage had gluten in it and the lady serving us said that we only said sheâs gf and didnât ask her to ask if the sausage was gf⊠Iâm sorry but how does that make any sense? After 5-10 minutes of them discussing, the waitress came over and said âso itâs not gluten free, hope thatâs okayâ. She also said that they will not remove it from our bill and continued to be super defensive, raised their voice saying âthis is the issue, you didnât tell me to ask if the sausage was GFâ. The manager then came over and said that he can hear us âheavingâ, slammed his hand on our table and told us that weâre welcome to leave because we upset them? We were in fact not âheavingâ and were just super uncomfortable with the situation. Our avocado was also super unripe which you can see in the photo attached. Honestly have never experienced something like this before. Canât say Iâd recommend this place at all, the service was appalling, the food wasnât good and we felt unsafe with the way they were treating us. P.S they did end up removing the sausage and avocado off the bill but no apology and dirty...
Read moreI'v been buying some food on too good to go and twice now it seems that the approach to the apps ethos is not consistent. I have bought two meals one for myself and one for my disabled neighbour on two separate occasions. On both of those occasions I received a box and a small bag with a pastry .Then for my neighbour a box and nothing else. Either the app needs to be corrected or the shop needs to state on the app that users should expect to receive one box and not necessarily a surprise bag. When I asked the man behind the counter if I could have one more thing so that both purchases are the same. He told me that the contents should equal £12. This is all well and good but I was still left with unequal meals. Even using the App users still pay money and should be treated like every other customer. I think the App and the shops using it should really discuss their approaches as some shops are supplying a bag of food and some like Broccoli are supplying a single box making them look quite stingy. I think the app should say quantities may vary. I felt quite embarrassed asking for another item so the meals are roughly the same and I was told a flat 'No' and felt like I was asking for charity rather than saving the...
Read moreI have been meaning to pop in here for a while and wasnât disappointed. I chose to pitch up and work from here for a few hours.
All the staff were friendly welcoming and attentive.
I like the fact that the kitchen is open and shared a warm smile with one of the chefs, when an establishment is open and transparent like this it adds to the flow, there is no hiding, everything has to be on point, and it was.
I sat at the back and observed whilst working.
A great spot to casually visit, the sofas are comfy and inviting and plenty of table space too, numerous electrical outlets are strategically placed throughout if ever someone is on low battery life. Truly a place to recharge!
1 Avo Go Go and 1 Martha Latte later I left feeling nourished and happy. Not that I attended feeling low, but I left feeling elevated.
The quality of the drinks is evident in the taste and vibration, you can taste the love and goodness put in.
The decor is modern/industrial yet classical, the attention to detail adds to the ambiance, the lighting is artistic and quirky.
A Gem in an unlikely spot.
The Wi-Fi password sums it up, I wonât share it, you will have to go to find out what it is.
Thank you for...
