Beam isn’t just a café—it’s a ritual. A place where scrambled eggs are silkier than your best thoughts, and the coffee arrives like a quiet promise. With its blend of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and British influences, Beam has carved out a space that feels both cosmopolitan and deeply personal.
Atmosphere Each location has its own rhythm, but the aesthetic is consistent: warm woods, soft lighting, and a buzz that feels like Sunday morning optimism. It’s stylish without being sterile, and the crowd reflects that—families, creatives, solo diners with notebooks, and brunch lovers who know what za’atar is.
Food & Drink The menu is vibrant, generous, and full of character:
Smooth scrambled eggs with smoked salmon — a signature dish, often praised for its texture and balance
Mushroom flatbread — earthy, aromatic, and layered with forest flavours
Beetroot & goat cheese muffin — playful, rich, and surprisingly elegant
Middle Eastern salads & shakshuka — fresh, spiced, and beautifully plated
Coffee & fresh juices — consistently excellent, with options for alt milks and bold brews

Read moreBeam in Highbury is a delightful brunch spot located in the heart of Highbury. As soon as you enter, you are welcomed by the lovely decor that is warm and inviting. The ambiance is cozy, with ample seating and beautiful natural light that floods the space.
The menu offers a great selection of food options, from classic brunch dishes to more creative ones. However, the English breakfast lacks some key components which makes it more a "Partial English breakfast, perhaps less artisanal bread and more tomatoes and black pudding. Nonetheless, the other dishes make up for it, and there is something for everyone on the menu.
One standout item that I would highly recommend is the kiwi avocado smoothie. It is a refreshing and delicious drink that perfectly complements any dish on the menu. Also, the fact that Beam is kid-friendly and umbrella-friendly is a huge plus, making it an ideal spot for families and groups.
The only downside is that it can get busy, especially during peak hours, so it's best to get there earlier to avoid a long wait. Overall, I would definitely recommend Bean in Highbury for anyone looking for a cozy and delicious...

A lot of outdoor seating for a sunny day but we managed to get a table inside and didn't have to wait too long for the table (10-15 mins). Once we were seated, the service was really good - very speedy and efficient.
I ordered the Turkish Eggs and a smoothie and the food was exactly how I remembered Beam - generous portion sizes, high quality ingredients and full of flavour. Perfect poached eggs in a garlic yoghurt with the right amount of chilli. My friend ordered the Med Breakfast as per my recommendations and enjoyed her dish. We were really impressed with the service, speed and brunch. Will visit again and try the other dishes.
I also absolutely love the interior of this brunch place - the shades of green, turquoise and teal and the furnishings. Seats were...
