Beam isn’t just a café—it’s a ritual. A place where scrambled eggs are silkier than your best thoughts, and the coffee arrives like a quiet promise. With its blend of Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and British influences, Beam has carved out a space that feels both cosmopolitan and deeply personal.

Atmosphere Each location has its own rhythm, but the aesthetic is consistent: warm woods, soft lighting, and a buzz that feels like Sunday morning optimism. It’s stylish without being sterile, and the crowd reflects that—families, creatives, solo diners with notebooks, and brunch lovers who know what za’atar is.

Food & Drink The menu is vibrant, generous, and full of character:

Smooth scrambled eggs with smoked salmon — a signature dish, often praised for its texture and balance

Mushroom flatbread — earthy, aromatic, and layered with forest flavours

Beetroot & goat cheese muffin — playful, rich, and surprisingly elegant

Middle Eastern salads & shakshuka — fresh, spiced, and beautifully plated

Coffee & fresh juices — consistently excellent, with options for alt milks and bold brews

Vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options are thoughtfully included—not as afterthoughts, but as stars in...

Beam in Highbury is a delightful brunch spot located in the heart of Highbury. As soon as you enter, you are welcomed by the lovely decor that is warm and inviting. The ambiance is cozy, with ample seating and beautiful natural light that floods the space.

The menu offers a great selection of food options, from classic brunch dishes to more creative ones. However, the English breakfast lacks some key components which makes it more a "Partial English breakfast, perhaps less artisanal bread and more tomatoes and black pudding. Nonetheless, the other dishes make up for it, and there is something for everyone on the menu.

One standout item that I would highly recommend is the kiwi avocado smoothie. It is a refreshing and delicious drink that perfectly complements any dish on the menu. Also, the fact that Beam is kid-friendly and umbrella-friendly is a huge plus, making it an ideal spot for families and groups.

The only downside is that it can get busy, especially during peak hours, so it's best to get there earlier to avoid a long wait. Overall, I would definitely recommend Bean in Highbury for anyone looking for a cozy and delicious...

One of my favourite brunch places in Crouch End ( my local) so wanted to try the Highbury branch with my work friend who lives in Finsbury Park. A 12 minute walk from the station and this Beam is situated in a residential high street with other book shops and cafes that I need to explore.

A lot of outdoor seating for a sunny day but we managed to get a table inside and didn't have to wait too long for the table (10-15 mins). Once we were seated, the service was really good - very speedy and efficient.

I ordered the Turkish Eggs and a smoothie and the food was exactly how I remembered Beam - generous portion sizes, high quality ingredients and full of flavour. Perfect poached eggs in a garlic yoghurt with the right amount of chilli. My friend ordered the Med Breakfast as per my recommendations and enjoyed her dish. We were really impressed with the service, speed and brunch. Will visit again and try the other dishes.

I also absolutely love the interior of this brunch place - the shades of green, turquoise and teal and the furnishings. Seats were...

Breakfast at BEAM in Highbury after Highbury Fields parkrun today! Husband had a full English which he rated, and I had the Mediterranean breakfast, both just under £17 each. The Mediterranean breakfast included lots of yummy things - halloumi, avocado 🥑, spicy sausage, poached eggs, toast, tomatoes and feta, filo parcel, olives.. And what appeared to be strawberry 🍓 jam. I didn't understand it but it deffo tasted nice 😆 Lovely coffee and good range of herbal teas, as well as English breakfast tea. Really lovely staff, good vibes and nice bright sunshiney space. Only let down is; there are baby changing facilities in the women's toilet only - no baby changing in mens cubicle. I saw no gender neutral/ everyone toilet cubicle. About a 10 minute, straightforward walk from Highbury Fields parkrun to the cafe, well worth it.

If I were to describe this restaurant in one word, the word I would use would be amazing. The food is flavourfull, the atmosphere is welcoming and the servers are kind. We went as a group of three and had shackshuka, vegan breakfast, and lamb. The food was amazing and had so much flavour and life and we were in love with the plating. Another reason this restaurant is so amazing is because of the atmosphere, this restaurant is cozy, but at the same time very open and welcoming, the servers are so kind and helped us when choosing what to eat. As for pricing I would say that it is around the middle, but the pricing is reasonable for portion size and food quality. The only place for improvement would be that they are mildly understaffed. but nevertheless is was still a great experience! Will definitely be coming back soon!
