Lake farm country park is approximately 63 acres in size, comprised of open grassland and shrubs, both important for wildlife. DDA compliant paths criss-cross the area, which includes both a well appointed skate bowl complex and a challenging BMX circuit, upon which races are regularly held. The woods at the south end of the park provide access to to the Grand Union canal, leading West to Stockley Business Park and Golf Course, Trout Lane and the London Loop; and East to Southall, Ealing and Brentford. The park is a valuable wildlife reserve, with shrubland undisturbed for decades if not hundreds of years hosting many bird species such as skylarks and the extremely rare red backed shrike, as well as foxes, rabbits and the occasional deer. By around 1850 the Shackle family were operating brickworks over most of the current Lake Farm site. These were backfilled with clay and other materials, and after the Second World War the site was used for the testing of radar equipment for armoured vehicles. The equipment includes 3 types of double swings, a round based swing, 4 types of climbing frames with slides and rope ladders, 2 types of roundabouts, an offset spinning dish, a low balance beam, a zip wire and a sprung wide seesaw. There is now new outdoor adult gym equipment just outside of the play areas.
