It was our first time here and my daughter who is 20months really loved it. She is quite a confident walker so it wasn’t a problem for her to enjoy the facilities. There would be more limitations if your baby is much younger or only started to crawl -the only area safe for them would be the big patch of green grass at the centre. But if you have bigger toddler, 2 and above, they could enjoy most of the facilities. I would say there are much better public sand pit outside eg. Greenwich park but it’s sufficient enough. The biggest perk for me is the big patch of the green grass at the centre because it allows an open play for kids of all ages. They slide/run/climb/somersault etc, it’s safe and parents no need to police everything. They also have small coffee place for coffee/tea/cakes/pastries and hot sandwiches. There’s only one changing room unfortunately so it gets dirty very fast and a queue for it can be unpleasant. And there are poor signs from the palace to the magic garden. Not sure if this is intentional because the magic garden is quite popular and gets...

If youre local with kids and have easy travel access to Hampton Court Palace, get yourself the Royal Palace Pass. For myself, the Mrs and SIX named children (my two daughters and 4 nieces are our named) it cost £105 for the Year! You can visit the magic garden as many times as you like, as well as the whole palace itself and four others, including the palace at kew gardens, and the tower of London!
Although you are limited to two hours per session, with the pass, we went in the morning from 10 to 12pm. We then went and had our picnic in the palace garden and after being more than an hour away from the Magic Garden, we went back at 130pm for another two hours! Awesome fun and unbeatable value for money.
The Magic Garden is an awesome place! Great for the kids and great for the adults too, as the kids were ocuppied for the entire time we were...
Read moreWonderful play park especially on warm days with a water splash area and extensive sand pit. There is a lovely array of places to explore, climb and play around. My son, who is 6, loves best the huge dragon sculpture to climb along. My daughter, not yet 2, enjoys toddling up and down the green sunken lawn of astroturf, exploring the towers and then going down slides. It's not exactly time off for parents as it's so big you can lose your kids quite quickly. And the reason I gave it 4 stars and not 5 is because it is very pricey! Adults are charged £7.00 entrance and children are now charged £5.20 at 3 upwards (used to be 5!) It's better value, if you plan to visit often, to buy a Royal Palaces membership. You get a wristband for 2 hours and then may go back in after a one hour break, so it makes sense to go early, have a picnic lunch and go back in... if you have...
