Really really dissapointing. After this last visit I doubt I'll be back (which is annoying as it's so close to work!). Since Coppernoise opened I never felt very welcomed.. it was always a bit "maybe I'm standing in the wrong place to be greeted?"..never really got a friendly Hello/welcome/what can we do for you?... I guess I got used to it!?...
It's not the cheapest place (I'm sure even the staff would agree), but a little while ago my boss introduced me to their breakfast bacon roll.. "Smoked crispy bacon, chilli jam and toasted brioche [roll]".. this for the princely sum of £6 (quite an expensive bacon roll tbh.. but then for £2 extra you could add halloumi or avocado.. but £8 for a breakfast roll was too steep for me so I stuck to the "basic" version).
I hadn't indulged in a while but today persuaded a colleague to join me for a bacon roll at Coppenose; we headed over, ordered our bacon rolls, and received our packed-in-a-box takeout. On getting back to work we found the bacon roll was now a couple of bits of Toast.. and that's not the worst of it... no chilli jam in sight!. So £12 for 4 slices of toasted bread and a couple of bits of bacon.. really!?!?. My colleague (a Coppenose newbie) was not impressed and I was highly embarrassed.. having to try not to choke on my dry toast sandwich; absolutely and thoroughly dissapointed.
After we managed to digest this dry lump we checked the menu and found the toasted brioche seems to have been swapped out for toasted sourdough.. and no mention of chilli jam.. are they expecting lots of hypersalivators?
When I got a chance between meetings mid-morning, I wandered back over to Coppernose to give them feedback on my poor experience, I asked the lady behind the counter who the manager was.. and it turns out it was the tall man that was making coffee who ignored me when I turned up at the counter beside him. I told the lady of my extreme dissapointment in what we had been sold (within earshot of the manager - who at no time offered to join the conversation or accept ownership of the complaint).. and did get an apology, but felt the whole experience was a costly disaster. I remain very dissapointed with the customer experience, the cost, and the food offering.. and I doubt I'll be back. My workplace is a large employer and I doubt I'll be recommending Coppernose to colleagues or guest based on this experience. Hugely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe had lunch at the cafe and to be honest it wasn't a pleasant experience. I ordered our lunch at the bar, first there was no Caesar salad but of course no problem so I ordered a toastie instead.
Our food and coffee got delivered but not the orange juice so I asked one of the waiters if we can please get the orange juice. He didn't say anything but just waved at the fridge. We were not told this would be in the fridge when ordering at the bar.
I looked in the fridge but no orange juice. I walked to the bar and mentioned there was no orange juice and my son didn't like any of the other juices in the fridge as they were mixed juices. Someone would look in the back. That took ages. I asked the waiter (the one that waived his hand to the fridge earlier) where the juice was. He said his colleague had gone to check. In the end no juice. I asked my son whilst looking at the fridge what else would you like and the same waiter said "it's not just look and grab"! I would have much preferred to go home and have lunch at home, would've cost less and I wouldn't have been treated so badly. Based on this experience I wonāt be going...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKim was an absolute superstar of a host! She went above and beyond in every way. Hereās the scoop: We were filming nearby and needed a cozy spot for the cast and crew to grab a bite, relax, and even change outfits. Kim didnāt just welcome us into Coppernoseāshe actually sectioned off a whole area just for us! We ended up hanging out there for a good 7 hours (donāt worry, we kept the food orders coming!). The food - quality comfort food and the bread- divine! The atmosphere Kim and her staff create is warm, inviting and certainly fun! Everyone in the cast and crew felt so well taken care of, and Kim even surprised us with a round of coffees and baked goods on the house, since she was closing up and couldn't carry the extras over to the next day. But what truly took the experience to another level was when I injured my ankle. Without missing a beat, Kim brought out an ice bucket for my foot and, unbelievably, went the extra mile by massaging it herself. I have never encountered such warm, generous service anywhere. Kim, thank you! I'll be sure to visit you...
