The worst tour I have ever been on. We went on the stonehenge, bath, windsor with lacock lunch tour leaving from london. I know what i wrote is lengthy but this was such a terrible and frustrating tour that i think it is a scam for tourists. First we left late from the bus station. This resulted in us being late to windsor castle and having to wait in a longer line. We then had less than an hour inside the castle itself since we did not get inside till 10am. We were told to be out before the changing of the guards at 10:50am Also our "tour guide" was useless. She just told us to get the audio tour and go through the castle. She left out an important fac that the audio tour takes a very long time and is impossible to get through in less than an hour. So we didnt get to see the Chapel. We saw about one third of the castle before rushing out to the bus. We then got stuck in 15 minutes of traffic and ended up at bath where we were told we get only 40 minutes to visit. They said traffic messed up our timing so they had to cut the visit short...how does 15 minutes result in almost an hour cut from bath? We didn't actually get to see the roman baths because it is a 20 minute wait in line and having less than 20 minutes in the roman baths itself seemed pointless especially when it cost almost 20 gbp per person. So we got to walk around and go to the abbey and that was it. Also we didn't get to lacock till after 3pm where we had to wait 10 minutes for food. Which isn't a big deal except that the reason we left bath so quick was so we could have lunch as soon as we arrived. It was also annoying that we had lunch so late and were told to get an additional lunch at Windsor since it would be 3pm till we ate. The food was good but the tour guide had us order drinks on the bus without telling us it cost extra till after our order was taken and placed. The portions for some of the meals were small. I heard a family complain that their kids were still hungry, but I was personally fine with my meal size though. So after lunch we sat around doing nothing for 20 minutes...this could have been more time spent at bath but I digress. So we have a drive to stone henge which went really well. We had plenty of time and everything since we got a full hour and a half to visit. Wish we had that much time at the other stops. So finally we head back to london. The tour guide let's us know we will make an additional stop to drop off people on one end of the city and then go back to the bus station. That's fine right and I'm sure helpful to those that need it. But of course something else goes wrong. Some airbag is not functioning correctly so they can't take use back. No buses will come pick us up. No offering to get some other form of transportion. No info on being refunded for additional costs. Ridiculous. We are left at a tube station to find out way back home. That is how our tour ended, left at some random tube station miles from our hotel that was next to the bus station. Just a warning this isn't a legitimate tour. It is a mere drive by through historical sites in England. Please don't waste your money. I'm hoping after I speak with management that they will discontinue this tour since it is a scam. Probably won't...
Read moreThese are the most unprofessional people Iâve met. And I am a regular traveler. We did the Windsor, Stonehenge and Bath trip with them but never got to see Stonehenge or Bath. AND they did not refund our money (150 pounds per head) which is practically stealing.
There were 3 large coaches for the same tour. Packed so I am guessing 75+ people per bus. The tour guide had told us which way to go (go to Eton Station + Royal Shopping Mall but did not tell us that there was another Eton station (Eton + Riverside) for the Central Rail. Note for future travellers: the Eton station near the Royal Shopping Mall is a museum, not an actual station.
We did the tour of Windsor castle (were only given an hour) and asked to meet at the coach station ar 11.40am. We came out of the Windsor castle (exit gate was round the corner from the entrance) and asked a couple locals where the Eton station was, not knowing that the Eton station the tour guide referred to was the museum not the station. One local took us to the actual functioning Eton station (at Riverside). We realized the coach station wasnât there and called them at 11.39 am. I know its late but we didnt know where we were and were hoping that the tour guide would direct us to the right location and hold the bus a few mins only if we got her on a call. We called and were directed to the agency, NOT the tour guide.
If youâre tired of reading, this is only the beginning of the horrific experience. The agents were rude and did not seem to understand where we were. They kept asking us to look for the clock tower which wasnât there. I asked them if I should go back towards the Main Street where McDonalds was and they misunderstood this thinking we are AT McDonalds. I asked for a different agent and by the time the other nicer agent took us to our bus it was 11.59am and the bus had long gone.
They said, âsorry we cannot refund you any money because you were accountable to be on timeâ. And âPerhaps, you can uber it to Stonehenge and try to catch up with the bus?!â. I said that wasnât an option so they said âWell, you can spend the day in Windsor then and take the train backâ. The train, that wasnât running due to strikes. Eventually they offered to take us back to London in the âcoach for the leftoversâ. (People who had been left back - so that tells you something). Also, their tone also seems very nonchalant, dont you think?
We had left our bags with our money, phone chargers, and other personal items in the bus. They said we had to wait at the Kensington Gloucester station till 8.30pm to collect it. They could ship it to us but that was 120 pounds in shipment fees. You can imagine at this point how my emotional state was. So of course, our conversation got heated. I called them a liar and unprofessional and they then said âyou are being really rude and so we will hang up nowâ. And hang up they did.
I never got back my money from them. Others need to know: go at your own risk and make sure you only tour a place for a few mins before you gotta run back to the bus!! They wont call you but leave you stranded with your...
Read moreI only had 1 day free from working in England for a few weeks. So, I decided to take the Luxury Paris Day Trip - see the Mona Lisa tour. I had used Premium Tours 2 years ago for an all day tour when I was working in London before. Again, I only had 1 day free. The London all day tour was excellent. I saw about as much as I could possibly see in a day and I learned a lot about the city and it's wonderful history.
The Luxury Paris Day Trip - see the Mona Lisa tour was not quite as good, mostly because of the travel logistics of going to mainland Europe. We were told to arrive at the Eurostar station at 6:00AM, when the train didn't leave until 7:30AM. Train stations are not like airports. You really don't need that much time.
The bus tour of Paris was excellent. I learned a lot and got a bunch of wonderful pictures, despite the very dark and gloomy weather. I could have done without the river cruise. We launched from the Eiffel Tower, went up the river, and came back down to the same launching spot. It would have been better if it had let us out somewhere else so we could have more time to see an attraction like Notre Dame.
The cruise let us out at the Eiffel Tower for lunch. We waited a long time to get a table for lunch. The service was terrible. In fact it was so bad that when lunch was over, I only had 15 minutes to take pictures from the first level of the Tower, stop by the gift shop, run down the stairs, and run to the bus. Disabled tourists had to leave the lunch early to have enough time to use the elevator and make their way back to the bus. I really regret not having time to go to one of the upper levels of the tower.
From the Eiffel Tower, we drove to the Louvre. We only had 1.5 hours there. The tour guide did an excellent job of getting us to the most famous pieces of art in a short period of time. Honestly, you need to spend the entire day there to do it justice. After all, it is the largest museum in the world. The tour guide did give us some time in the shops at the end, which was nice.
From the Louvre, we headed back to the train station. Traffic was terrible. We literally were dropped off at the station 10 minutes before departure. This may sound crazy, but that was plenty of time to make it through customs and board the train. Again, it's not like an airport. The Eurostar was great both directions.
Long story short, you need more than 1 day in Paris to do it justice. That's not really the tour's fault. They showed as much as they could with the time they had. The service at the Eiffel Tower wasn't their fault either. Other than touring for more days, my only real recommendation for this tour is to swap put the river cruise with another attraction that you could drive to like Notre Dame. Overall, I was very glad I did the tour. I wish the weather was better. I think this tour was the best I could do with the limited...
