Sorriso — Restaurant in Tameside

We went out for a birthday and was quite let down by here after not being too chuffed with there sister restraunt Sorella due to sorella seeming too much like a bar than a restraunt. We thought we would give her a go for a family members birthday to see if it was any better, however we was quite disappointed with food and the service here tonight, food was not brought out all together we had some people on our table waiting ten minutes for there dishes to come after members of our table had been served, the staff was not atentive to what was going on around them and getting there attention was more of a chore than expirenced before there was also a quite rude waitress who when asked about when a dish was due shot back instantly with "it is coming now" I am sorry but it is for the kitchen to tell them that not just assume, some food like the rice balls were under seasoned and had no taste of truffle, other food was overcooked like the hake and the fillet that was order, the decription of some dishes on the menu is very poor like the king prawn pasta which did not mention it was in a tomato sauce instead it said chilli butter sauce which led us to believe no tomatoes were in the sauce as some people are not the biggest fan of tomato sauce on there pasta and are sick of having to have non authentic carbonara(non authentic in the terms it has cream in the sauce and uses pancetta instead of guanciale a carbonara is simple 3 ingredients of pecorino, egg yolk and guanciale otherwise it not not a carbonara) when out, and the icing on the cake was when they over seasoned the hake not once but twice for two orders we are still tasting the saltiness in our mouths from this. The food which was not overcooked, underseasoned, incorrectly descrided or over seasoned though was some of the nicest italian food I have had in a while. If the owner/manager work on making sure there front of house and chefs are trained correctly I will be more than happy to return but at the moment I am in no rush...

We got married here 2 weeks ago in the function room upstairs. We had the ceremony, wedding breakfast and evening reception. The food was amazing, our guest had a choice of 3 starters, 4 mains and 3 dessert, the kids did have 2 option of which I choose for them. There was a great selection for the even buffet of which was hot. We don’t get to have any of this but we are told by all that it was fantastic. The wedding breakfast was amazing, the food was oitstanding. The room looked stunning, the best they’ve ever seen it, I was told by management (I think he owns it, but he was defiantly the brother of Emin) and he was a lovely chap. The staff were amazing and were really kept busy, they worked really heard. I’d say the management of it was let down slightly but this did not spoil the day one bit. We had the best day. Everyone loved it, everyone loved the food they thought it was beautiful can’t fault the food at all. Compliments to the chef/chefs the food was outstanding. Like I say the staff were amazing and did a fabulous job, and worked hard, as there were a lot of us. The 2 members of staff that stuck out for me were the Twins, they were smiley, happy, polite, conversational, at the end of the night we got talking more to them and they were still happy and smiley lads, an asset to Sorriso. We got told about this place by our friends Kyle and becci our go to place was Leoni in Stockport so they had a high standard to beat . After walking in seeing the lay out it bring a wow factor to your evening. We was amazed with how fast the staff are at making you feel comfortable. The owner is a real people person had us engaged in conversation from the first moment we met him . The cocktails menu really put a smile on my partners face I think she tried most ha ha each one was fresh and made right . Good selection of drinks . The menu makes your mouth start to water from just reading it really good choices for any type of taste. The steaks are to die for the pasta dishes are just wow . We visited for the first time around 3 months ago and we must of been back over 10 times since. We live around 12 miles away but from that first time of coming here the travel is well worth it .. now people say to us about Leonis and we are like Leoni who ha ha . This is definitely the best Italian in and around the tameside and Manchester area by miles we know because we have tried.
