Hidden behind a nondescript door and the Historic Houses shop, is a fascinating time warp from the war. It's a small gem but filled with local history. The only downfall (could be for real), would be the stairs, which are not for those with mobility issues. The stair lift was out of action when we visited.

Rather higgledy piggledy layout which added to its charm. Beautifully laid out with festive decorations. Entrance was not clear. The £10 entrance seemed a bit steep and I wouldn't pay again to visit. There were no other visitors.

Really interesting tucked away place, beautiful interior and informative guides. Great lovely restoration project especially the little garden or the back

Great visit around this lovely building with fascinating history. I did a self tour but guided tours are available to book. I was fortunate to be able to speak to Kevin who manages the site and he was very informative about the history and kindly answered a lot of questiins from me. I don't live nearby but, for those who do, this is a wonderful volunteering oportunity to pass on information to visitors. Diolch Kevin and all good wishes for the ongoing work of...

Typical English museum in that it is all a bit hodge podge (which I like!) and a work in progress. There is even a room where they have all the "to be curated" donations. Could do with some more explanations on some of the items, but we really enjoyed it and found the building absolutely fascinating. We were lucky that the guy that took the money wasn't too busy as he was very informative and told us various snippets that were not...

The Merchant's House Marlborough is really worth a visit - It shows how a 17th Century prosperous merchant would have lived. The pannelled chamber is stunning and houses their Christmas Shop in the festive season, and the lovely garden is worth a visit in Spring & Summer. They do tours - a great way to spend a rainy day and there's a lovely range of gifts in their shop on the...
