A peaceful and relaxing environment thriving with natures flora and vegetation. Many songbirds filling the sky, a great spot for birdwatching. Low tide, this is a wonderful place to walk ( especially for the dogs) and enjoy the fresh air. On high tide it’s a still glass of water perfect for swimming, paddling, paddle boarding etc. Many boats and fishing vessels strewn throughout making it a visually pleasing sight. On wetter days, it can become quite swampy and treacherous, so beware and wear appropriate footwear.

What can I say, beautiful. I saw horses being ridden on the sand, paddle boarders and people walking and enjoying the scenery. We had a BBQ in the picnic area and watched butterflies and a Little Egret which was nice. There is a car park where you have to pay and a bin for rubbish and dog poo. No toilets here. Very tranquil, a perfect place for all ages to just chill or enjoy the estuary.

Absolutely beautiful place, long stretches of sand resembling a desert. Once the tied comes in it is a gorgeous place to paddle in a Kayak.

There is some good footpaths along the Estuary allowing access to Crantock area at low water via two easily accessible crossing points. However be warned get you timing right! The crossing at Fernhill is controlled by the cafe who provide a boat / bridge 9-30 to 6-00 only. The bridge is dragged away as the estuary starts to flood this area, the lower bridge allows more time to get across as further down the estuary BUT once the tide starts to build it disappears very quickly with deep pools to be aware of mainly on the...

Had a little paddle in the inflatable kayak set off about hour and half before high tide the current takes you along with minimum effort we made it to where we could see the texaco garage on the road then headed back as the tide was turning. 90 min each way at a leisurely pace nice and relaxed. Approaching the beach is a rip tide where the river meets the sea to be aware of it is...
