Really nice place to visit, but not a good place to learn to swim. The Swan, ducks and Seagulls will peck they heck out of you, they will leave you alone on land or in a boat but if you try to swim they turn raging mad, they think they own the water. I think they took it really personal , they even attacked me while I was getting my face attend to. This young man was trying shield me from an angry flock , he had pretty big ears for his size head but still the birds got to me. Bless him at least he tried. I am uninstalling Angry Birds app immediately I don't want to relive that experience ever again. Still beautiful place to visit, highly recommend it ..just not...

The boats are different and the old cafe is now a much classier place than I remember but Trenance gardens are still the same old peaceful escape from an otherwise very noisy busy Newquay. The pedalo's cost £5 for an hour and get our 16 year old Ollie happy, I thought this was really good value and gave me and Ollie's mum some peace which as any parent knows is priceless! An excellent lakeside cafe with an extensive menu and good food. The other side of the road the gardens continue and another cafe and museum are on site, again serving good food at good prices.
