Clued Up! Escape Rooms — Attraction in Norwich

We did the escape room Xtraction as a family of six for my 60th Birthday. The venue is a totally unassuming place on Prince of Wales Road with just a sign and a door. The room we were playing in was unfortunately on the 2nd (top) floor and the stairs were a bit hard to manage for some but so TOTALLY worth it! Our games master Robin was lovely as soon as we arrived and talked us through everything. She was so helpful & funny so we knew we would have a great time. She made our experience all the more amazing, ensuring everything was fully explained to us & supporting us with encouraging clues and setting the mood for a fun time. Everyone played a role in figuring out the clues and although It was definitely challenging everyone had a blast! We barely escaped this room with only 1 min 14 secs to spare & the tension in those final minutes has left us longing for more! I would definitely recommend to any group seeking a challenge or anyone just looking for something fun to do this summer Clued Up Escape Rooms. And although it was a first ever experience for all of us, we cant wait to do one again. . . It was smoothly run and welcoming from start to finish so we will definitely...

(Very mild spoilers for Prison Escape) Absolutely awesome experience from Darcey in Prison Escape! An entertaining, yet easy to understand explanation of the rules, love the roleplaying at the beginning as the warden, made me chuckle (though quite a surprise, made me jump 😅) I love roleplay in escape rooms! Really adds to the immersion if that's what you're looking for! And on top of that it can just be a good chance to have a laugh before the game if you're not really that much into immersion!

She gave out hints at a very good pace too, just as we're on the cusp of getting frustratingly stuck on a problem or if we are struggling as to what to do next. I don't know how long she's worked there, but she runs the room like a pro with years under her belt! Really is a friendly face and a warm smile that put us all at ease before we went in (rspecially the rookies😆), and an amazing hype-woman as we managed to escape!

Having successfully escaped we are now waiting for a slap up dinner to be served at one of the local food places. Of the four members only one had ever been to an escape room so we had no idea what to expect. The first task was to try to work out how to open the door to get in we managed to fail and had to ask for help. Once we got inside we were welcomed by our lovely games master who was absolutely fantastic. We went into the room and were locked in our cells and the next hour passed with lots of laughter and collaboration and a fair smattering of help from our watchful games master. To be honest we probably would have been still incarcerated if she hadn’t been so helpful, the clues came just at the right time with enough of a clue to help and an extra nudge when we really messed up. For a family of older children and parents this was a really great way to spend time together. Certainly a place to return to and just a mention they have a bathroom...
