Salls Lokma — Restaurant in Norwich

Having walked the length of the road to the Riverside and found all the bars, cafes and clubs closed. Think it is a nighttime environment. The pub by the walk was bar meals only, no snacks, and on pathway for pedestrians, very unappealing. Looked up the road and saw this brightly coloured black and gold sign for Salls with pavement seating. Checked if they did light bites and a lovely girl gave us a great description of their menu. She later gave us the history of the business. It is Turkish based food and wonderful, we had 2 types of sandwich which were in lovely light and soft rolls. 1 with chips and salad and gherkins and 1 with an array of meats. We shared them. I had never eaten Turkish food before but after this, I'll be back.....wherever I am. We were also given a sample dish of little yellow peppers in a drizzle. Great is the only word. As a thank you we also got a sample of Salls Lockma. It was his Grandmothers recipe. A sort of profiterole come doughnut in a warm chocolate sauce, scrumptious. Very modern look and feel inside. Positives: There is some unquestionable quality about aspects of the food that gets served at this place. The ingredients are fresh, and of good quality. The guy who works here is very passionate, polite and friendly. Ive ordered here twice, having the Salls burger and Salls wrap, the restaurant area looks great and I love the presentation of the food.

Negatives: Although the texture of the chips are spot on the spice level is controversial. I like spice but for me its a dry chilli flavoured spice that easily dominates the taste buds. A spice/non spice option should be offered. Our wraps this evening were also very greasy Soo much so that I was put off eating the second half. The description of what we ordered too appeared to be different to what we got. We had this issue on our first order when ordering what we thought were onion rings, they turned out to be some kind of battered cheese rings instead.

Ive definitely experienced enough potential to want to come back to support this place again one day - it would be the ideal place to order from after a few hours day drinking but attention to detail and perhaps double checking orders on the phone would...
