Lots of potential here, early days as it only opened recently. The main restaurant is upstairs divided between three dining areas including one area which looks great and would be perfect as a small group dining room (10 people) this area is nicely decorated. However... The other two areas I have to assume are a work in progress. The larger of the two has woodchip wallpaper and nothing on the walls. i.e. Not decoration pictures etc. This creates zero ambiance which is made worse with lights albeit nicely arranged to be on fully. A Dimmer switch is urgently required. Now onto the food, I ordered a fish soup which was lovely served with crusty bread. My wife had salmon which was also nice and well presented. We both had the same main of a 'Hot mess burger' while the burger was OK, it didn't live up to the description on the menu. To be honest it was very good value and we left satisfied. Work to do, decor mainly, the food will get better but it's a good start for such a new restaurant. We certainly will be going back by which time hopefully it would have made some tweeks here and there. We returned to the bar afterwards and left...

Celebrating a bit of history on their walls as well which I personally love to see and enjoy reading.
This was a quick lunch stop with my wife on our break from work and couldn't of been happier with our choice.
A very basic menu served and cooked extremely well had us both feeling very satisfied. Staff were helpful and smiley and good came out in 10 minutes or so.
I had the grilled chicken burger which was covered in cheese and sauce with a delightful hash brown inside. My wife had a rice bowl with some home made fried chicken which had me feeling jealous even though my meal was great. The chips were really nice too and it was nice to not see the standard frozen one that most places seem to serve these days.
All in all very pleasant experience, and seems to have a lot of events going as well and we may be back for the comedy night...
Read moreHad a great first experience in here. Met one of the owners who had a lot of information about the past of the pub and some of the ghosts that haunt the property to this day (pictures attached describe the different ghosts) i ordered a bowl of chips which cost £4.50 got a lot more than expected, my friend ordered the vegertarian burger and a drink for £10 which he was very impressed with both the quality of the food and the price, the menu looked very good all around and you can add lots of different items to your chips and burgers if you fancied. Next time im in ill get more pics of menues and decor. We had one slight issue but this was very quickly rectefied by one of the owners. The staff we spoke to were very friendly, would defernatly recomend this pub for food and virety of drinks, small and inderpendent which is fantastic. All in all a great hidden pub very close to the heart...
