The best afternoon out we've had in a long time.
My Son is Autistic and has Sensory Processing difficulties. He desperately wanted to go climbing here as he'd been before with another family member and loved it. When we arrived, it was really busy and my Son started getting very anxious. The staff were so kind and understanding and when I asked if there was a quieter time to come back (if needed) they assured me I could switch our booking to a different day, which was great.
My Son wanted to try to stay and said that the music was bothering him. Without hesitation, staff offered to lower the music to a level that would be more tolerable, yet still at a decent volume for other customers. As soon as they did this, my Son was able to manage his stress levels, and despite still feeling anxious, was able to wait for the start of the session to begin and sit through the safety video.
We both had so much fun from that point onward. The walls are a really good range of difficulties and the mix of easier and more challenging climbs means everyone can enjoy it. It's a really friendly, relaxed environment, too.
We would not have been able to have such a brilliant time if it had not been for the staff accommodating us, especially the ladies at the front desk. By listening and understanding my Son's needs when he was clearly becoming distressed, they showed him that the world is such a kind and inclusive place. I really can't express my...
Read moreWe have been to clip and climb on a few occasions and had a really great time but this time was different! I'd booked a climb and dine for my daughters birthday, climbing was great all th kids really enjoyed themselves and then it was time to sit down for the food which for ease we all had pizzas. Three pizzas came first, then another two 5 minutes later and then the last two arrived after the first three had finished. I had gone to fill up the kids squash cups, for ease I brought the jug to the table to save me going up 4 separate times to fill up cups which I was about to take back, at which time my son found a hair in his pizza, at this time the cafe lady had stormed over to tell me I wasn't allowed the jugs at the table but I stopped her and explained there was a hair in my sons pizza, she rudely asked where? So I showed her and she said well it's blonde so it's not mine, I said regardless of colour there is a hair in his pizza and its in the cheese so it's not come from us. So she grabbed the plate from me and said I'll do another! No apology which I found very rude. Upon finishing our party, the children were stood watching someone do the leap of faith and another member of staff said to the kids 'This is the exit you can't stand here!' I said you could've asked more politely as they weren't aware. I don't think we will be...
Read moreWhat a brilliant afternoon! We went on public transport and it was effortless and relaxing to get to! Caught the tram from the train station and stayed on the tram until Cinderhill; the stop Before the end of the line.
Clip and climb was a two minute hop across the tracks and on the other side of the road to the right. Bright, large clean building with organised session times of an hour and a half which meant endless children weren’t queuing to get on anything. I took three boys and they absolutely loved it. Took our own drinks and snacks which didn’t seem to be a problem, although there is a large cafe downstairs too. I sat comfortably upstairs in the viewing area, taking photos.
Great selection of climbs to do and even an extra challenging ‘leap of faith’ which costs an extra £2.50 on the day. All in all a very well spent £13 each and three very tired 12 and 13 year olds at the end of it! If you have smaller children, I noticed children as young as around 5 or 6 loving it and also a lot of large teenagers and over excited dads having a go! staff were wonderful, smiley and helpful; go and have a go, you won’t be...
