Pentewan Beach — Attraction in Pentewan Valley

As a family beach you can't beat it. Massively wide. All the facilities you need thanks to the camp site it's on.

When at low tide, you get large sand flats that give a wide open space safe for kids.

The sand is 90% all proper fine sand. With just a thin band of grittier sand across where tide line is. But it's nothing to worry about. No pebble beach here!

Ice cream van regularly comes to the beach.

Play area at the top of the sand.

HubBox on the beach in the middle too serving burgers etc. Boats can be launched using their tractors for a fee which is very popular. There is an inflatable diving platform kids can use when tide is in.

Lots of interesting rock pools around the edge with a small river estuary running out at one side.

The beach is dog free, and when i say dog free, it is completely to point of too far. Dogs are not allowed anywhere near it, let alone on it. Apparently its privately owned. I see no reason why dogs could not be allowed up to the edge (near the harbour/sailing club) so dog owners could watch-from a distance while other family members or friends could be on the beach. I get why they are not allowed on it, and have no issue with that, but come on... Other than that, the sand is quite pebbly and sharp in parts. The only beach bar/restaurant is the very over priced Hubbox i think its called. Better to wander over to the "The Ship" in Pentewan village (about 200 metres from beach) for a nicer pint and...

Back here for the 3rd time as we absolutely love this place. A different vibe to the place this year, but still a fantastic place to visit. Checking in is a bit slower but you expect that with covid checks, but very nice and helpful staff. The whole park is spotless as usual and the toilet blocks are cleaned more often, so time you needs right! Haven't had anything to eat from the on site facilities yet, so can't say anything about them yet. Beach is perfect and the sun is out, so all in all book and enjoy Pentewan. Yes we will be...
