We have just enjoyed a month at Pentewan Sands in our camper. We have been many times and love it more and more with every visit.
We were so pleased to find that the Seahorse bar and restaurant has been fully renovated! Itās so much more luxurious and now you actually feel like you are coming to a nice bar and restaurant vs how it felt previously as more of a school house, youth hostel or canteen feel (if that makes sense).
There is also a fine dining section which unfortunately wasnāt just open during our stay, but Tim the manager told us about the menu and the plans and it sounds lovely!
All the staff are so friendly and helpful and canāt do enough to accommodate what you want. They now even have these cool box things on the table where you can call service and also call to pay. Pretty cool for the new age of just asking ācan I have the bill pleaseā!!
To be honest to myself and as part of this review, my husband and I spent many an afternoon enjoying the comfort of the couches in the window, no overlooking the beautiful view of the sea, while the wine and Korev was flowing freely in our direction (in exchange for payment of course).
We built up a particularly good report with Tim the manager. He is so great and is working really hard to bring the new vision of the bar and restaurant to life and make it a great experience for visitors to remember.
We also became friendly with Lauren who we absolutely love!! She is absolutely great at her job (we would see her busy all the time) but she did make time to come and chat to us and have some banter ⦠which again WE LOVE! š„°
And my new besties Jane and Sian! They very kindly gave us all the details and dos and donts of moving down here permanently! Thank you for looking after us on our last night š
Thank you so much to the team at the Seahorse Pentewan! Big thank you to Tim, Lauren, Jane and Sian for making us feel like 2 of the locals.
At this point I feel like I am making some kind of acceptance speech! But credit where credit is due, these guys are lovely.
We are already looking forward to coming back in September of this year for another few weeks.
See you soon! Love Rachael & Damien...
Read moreWe live about 15 mins down the road but have never tried the pool here and due to having a 8 month old I was told the pool here is ideal, had to wait quite a while to get swimming tickets from the cafe as there was one woman serving on her own and she was rushed off her feet bless her, however I cannot fault her she was lovely. £13.30 for two adults to swim.
The pool situation however was another story, the changing rooms are tiny, several people queuing just to use a normal changing cubicle, only one baby changing room so several people are changing their babies on the shelf by the mirrors or on the floor as no other option, as this is a family pool I would have expected a lot more facilities for families to change. The pool itself was nice and warm and the baby part is a great depth. I obviously never take my phone into any pool however I saw a woman taking photos of her family stood right next to the lifeguard (who wasnāt saying anything to the woman at all) and figured how amazing it would be if I could get a rare photo of my son in the pool. We checked the big signs which had no mention of photography and took the other woman being allowed to take photos as a sign that we could. 15 mins later another life guard came on and told us no photography and pointed to the only small A4 sign on the wall that we didnāt notice before, I did inform the lady that the other life guard had said nothing to us or the other woman, her response, āoh he is trained but heās just covering breaksā odd?
Overall we wouldnāt visit again, too stressful trying to find somewhere to change and the pool itself isnāt worth the money especially when you have to pay parking on top of that! Ā£13.30 for two adults and Ā£3+ parking when there are pools around with much better facilities that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGood tasty food, but the staff were inattentive, so as a large party, we didn't get to eat together as the food came out in dribs and drabs. Good selection of food with a few options for those that don't like or can't eat fish. I had the ribs and they were melt of the bone perfection, partner had the lobster mac n cheese and he loved it. Others in the party didn't have many issues with the food either (maybe a wrongly done steak? But meh) I didn't chose dessert as there was birthday cake, and I'm glad we didn't as the wait for dessert took the longest! Great location with good views, even if half of it is a campsite. Parking is finicky (not many spaces in front of the restaurant) but thankfully there was a space free as we entered the car park and paying wasn't too much of a hassle. Entering the restaurant was up a winding flight of stairs, and we had to ask where the restaurant was (never visited before) as signage isn't clear. Would come again as small family but not a...
