Last year we had wanted to visit this place as well as have our session at the lido ponty but it was closed as it got flooded in 2020 in the February just before everything shut down in the March which was shocking!
The museum itself is an old converted methodist church building and its only a small museum and open weekdays only and in the basement there is a meeting space as well as the story of the floods of February 2020!
There is the history of the old mining community in there as well and how the town grew up through the old coal mines there.

Hire out space for local groups, and have had local art group exhibitions in past, art and craft groups as well as info days.
Downstairs rooms are large enough for a huge variety of activities and main room has been used for large community events in past.
The small bookshop and gift shop at the entrance has interesting stuff. No longer opens Saturdays...
