The cutest stay in Cornwall 🌊 #portreath #cornwallairbnb #ukstaycation #cornwallholiday

This is probably one of the best beaches I have been to in the UK. We had a few days here over the summer, some of which were glorious sunshine and the others rainy as usual. On the sunny days we were on the beach most of the day. Lots of people but never felt too crowded. Like the fact it has an active lifeguard during the day. But the best part is the sea. It is beautifully clean and clear here and because the bay is very shallow for a considerable distance, you can wade out quite far and still have your feet on the sand.

Porthreat Beach, A Cornish Gem Portreath Beach is a stunning destination on Cornwall's North Coast! The scenic views, golden sand, and crystal-clear waters make it perfect for sunbathing, swimming, and surfing. The surrounding cliffs and coves add to the beach's natural beauty, and the lively atmosphere is enhanced by the nearby cafes and pubs. Whether you're looking for adventure or relaxation, Portreath Beach is a must-visit destination in Cornwall. 🌊🏖️🌟 What a gem!

My favourite beach. Easy access and not far to walk. Best approach is by the road above the cove, as there's a stunning view as you round a bend in the road, and Portreath Beach and Gull Rock appear ahead of you. Portreath was once a busy port exporting copper and importing coal, but now the harbour remains empty of large vessels. Beware of stinking rotting seaweed in the old harbour at low tide, but okay if you're upwind. Before a huge rock fall there were extensive caves to the left of the beach. The rectangular pool (pictured) is the remains of one of the baths that were within these caves and used by the Bassett family many years ago. Servants were sent ahead to build fires to warm sea water...

Really eye catching beach with sandy shores, cliffs to the left which have rock pools and caves. It has surf hire, great waves to ride, life guards present ensuring safety, cracking food, fish and chips with a comprehensive menu next to the car park also complimented by an ice cream parlour to get all the Cornwall flavours. The near by fish and chip restaurant expect up to a 30-40 minute delay for busy days for said food to be brought to your table, the quality of the food makes up for the delays. Most important fact to be aware of is the car park only accepts coins, and atm is near the bakery which is a 3 min walk away from car park. Wildlife nearby are seals. Enjoy the day out with...

One of our favourite beaches to visit in Cornwall. Easily accessible by car or bus. Gorgeous sandy beach - expect it to be incredibly busy peak season. Dog friendly - check restrictions. Always check tide times! Caves to be explored when the tide is out. Safety first always know when the tide is on the way in and don't be complacent! Life guards on the beach in peak season up until Sept 24th 2023. Stunning cliff top walks accessible from the beach. Plenty of cafes and kiosks for refreshments. These are pricey but it's to be expected. Plenty of sun and shade spots suitable for families of all ages. Excellent waves for the younger body boarders and great launch point for...
