This is one of my favourite quick getaway from the hustle & bustle of everday living. This has acres of land to explore or you can park up and have a well deserved picnic by one of many elegant tables. There's always the infamous Boston Castle to explore....you will need to check opening times. Avoid coming to this pak after school or college times as its also a popular spot for young teenagers to gather & socialise...ruins the serenity a little....oh and there's also the woods to explore if youre brave enough as theres a lot of undergrowth to get through....there are also helpful and interesting facts displayed around the park and woodland areas detailing settlements of the past....or you could come and view a very strange entrance placed between one side of an old quarry....it gives the illusion that there's possibly a hidden tunnel behind....many have tried to remove brick work in an effort to prove this myth....in reality this edifice is the actual door that was removed from the medevial Rotherham College and placed in the park. To conclude this park has something for everyone...dog walkers love...
Read moreAged 77, I've never been inside !! My wife and l took two friends visiting from Paris - France on the off chance and luckily it was open. Martin (excellent museum guide) took us onto the roof for some amazing views. It was windy but dry and well worth the visit. Martin's talk about the history of the building and the area was fascinating. Such a shame more people do not visit or are unaware of the place. You must check on-line for opening times.
