If Hell Had a Lobby in Rotherham, This Would Be It
I can’t decide what was worse: the smell of damp mixed with stale kebab, or noises coming through walls as thin as paper. The room looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years – the curtains were dirtier than a bus station floor, and the carpet had stains that even a jackhammer couldn’t remove. The bathroom had mould as a permanent feature, and water pressure here is a rare luxury, not a right. Desk so sticky that I spilled my water when I tried to raise the glass.
Staff? If you ever see them, they look like they’re doing you a favour by letting you exist. Breakfast? Doesn’t exist, but even if it did, I wouldn’t dare eat it. The entire building smells like an old, sealed-off basement, and you won’t get any sleep at night with the constant noises and shady characters visiting this so called hotel.
If you’re looking for a place to lose faith in humanity and comfort, congratulations, you’ve found the perfect spot. But if you care about cleanliness, sleep, and basic safety, you’d be better off sleeping on a park bench – it’ll be cheaper, quieter,...
Read moreMore accurately described as Brecon Rooms on google maps and the not Brecon Hotel as the sign details on the approach to the property or as described by booking.com ||||This is certainly not a hotel, it is a property offering rooms / accommodation, as there is no open bar or restaurant, nor do they offer breakfast, so it cannot be a hotel in my opinion.||||Having said that the rooms are comfortable, clean, in good decorative order and I had a good quiet night’s sleep in the annexe building.||||Located on the outskirts of Rotherham on a direct bus route to / from the town centre and the railway / bus interchange station. There is also ample free car parking on site. ||||There is a Tesco Express opposite, handy for breakfast items.||||The reception and welcome was okay yet expect nothing more from the staff or management, they cannot be bothered to say goodbye, you leave your key in a letterbox||||Offering good value for money when I stayed … I can recommend these rooms just do not expect any of the normal amenities that a hotel would normally offer such as a bar...
