I ordered 2 toasties and a bacon bap along with juice and a coffee before my son's doctor appointment. As I was waiting for my order, my name was called and I was handed my coffee and a bag with the food in. I said thank you and left for my son's appointment. We got there and I checked the bag, both toasties but no bacon sandwich. Obviously I didn't have the time to run back before his appointment so we went after.
When I got there I told the girl at the till about my order and that I hadn't found a bacon sandwich in the bag. She looked around and then looked back at me. She then said "we called out a bacon bap but no one came to collect it" I then said "oh I'm sorry I was handed a bag and assumed all the food was in the bag?" Another lady then spoke to me (I'm guessing a manager) who said "I handed you the bag with toasties. The bacon baps get cooked separately. I will make another for you but they get called out separately." She was quite abrupt and rude and I felt quite talked down to as if I should've known that the to go bag she handed me wouldn't have my full order in it. I wouldnt think anyone would assume that when a bag is handed to them they'd still have to wait around for another bit of their order. I wasn't told "Toasties are in the bag it will be a few more minutes on your bap" I was just handed the bag.
A helpful tip for the staff working in a coffee shop in a hospital, a bit of compassion and understanding goes a long way. You never know what issues people are dealing with, maybe being abrupt and rude isn't the correct approach. Also maybe wait until the whole order is finished and in the bag before giving the bag to the customer or at least tell the customer to hang on for the other part of...
Read moreI'm a big Costa fan and have visited them all over Leeds York and Sheffield. But I must admit, it might be the fact this one is constantly busy but the staff always seem a bit miserable. Maybe their too busy for a nice word or a smile. Dunno. But it's the same every time and I've visited this one about 10 times. Maybe it's because it's a hospital and all the customers are miserable. Lol. Again, dunno. But usually Costa is very savvy regarding customer service. And being a restaurateur I always try to be the best customer being extremely polite happy courteous and helpful as I can as we all know some customers are a pain in the proverbial. But it seems waisted here. The staff need a course in customer service. I'm not saying they're not polite. They are. But it's not a morgue. Smile. Say hello and smile. It makes ALL...
Read moreMy wife came in to collect a too good to go bag this afternoon, before she was assisted she was rudely told by a male member of staff, “we’re closed!”. To this my wife explained she was here to collected a too good to go bag and this was her collection time.
The rude man made my wife scan to collect her “sweet treat” bag before even handing her the items and then handed her savoury sandwiches and wraps. My wife asked the rude man, “Oh, I ordered sweat treats and there’s only sandwiches in here. The rude man replied, “That’s all we have left, I don’t know what you want from me”.
This gentlemen is lucky I wasn’t there with her, as I wouldn’t have taken as kindly as she did to being spoken to like that.
To treat a key worker like this is shocking, and we’ll never use Costa again. Starbucks from...
