Visiting Rotherham from London, I had low expectations of dining out in general. I've eaten my words because most of the food I ate in Yorkshire was far better quality and price than almost anywhere I've been in the Big Smoke.
Anyone who knows me also knows I'm not one for hyperbole, so I hardly ever give out 0 or 1 stars, or 5. Most places are 3 stars because 3 is average - neither terrible nor amazing. But at Goodfellas I found a Sicilian gem where the food absolutely is a 5 - it's probably some of the best Italian food I've ever eaten. Even "The Chronic Complainer of Yorkshire" (aka my mother) didn't have a bad word to say about it. And this is from a woman who asked for a knife and fork in McDonald's.

The food is Italian, the head waiter is Pakistani, the waitresses are Yorkshire/sicilian or Yorkshire/Maltese. You are right, it’s an absolute melting pot that weirdly gives off a family vibe. So fresh! I had linguine with meatballs & this wasn’t even on the menu but there was no issue with making me this at all & in all honesty it was the best pasta dish I have ever tasted!
