We recently got married at House for an Art Lover and the experience overall was excellent. There were very minor communication issues at some points throughout as we booked so far in advance that certain members of staff we initially liaised with were no longer employed there. The rest of the experience was fantastic.
The costs involved were very reasonable considering what you get: a very generous drinks package, excellent food and an absolutely beautifully decorated venue. At first we were a bit iffy about the dancefloor but it was suprisingly charming on the day.
We had a slight disaster with the kilt hires and Amber was eager to help out by loaning us some of the purple staff ties to use for the ushers in lieu of the missing green tie from our hire as they fit in with the colour scheme. The bride didn't even notice!
Bridget and Farooq were excellent also, and were more than happy to make various accomodations for guests that we feel were above and beyond what was required. We had a few fussy eaters who weren't keen on the starter and they were more than happy to let them pick and choose between the regular and vegetarian menus. They also bought in non-alcoholic Prosecco for our pregnant guests (including the Bride)! Bridget was also absolutely fine with some last minute changes and assured us that we weren't being unreasonable - she was very friendly throughout. Farooq and Amber also gave us a hand with moving the flowers into the venue as the Bride arranged the flowers herself. Farooq also, for ease, stored these until the next day for us to pick up and even gave us a hand with them back to our car.
With regards to liaising with the various vendors and suppliers, this was all done behind the scenes with minimal input from us which was really nice as everything was done for us so we could focus on enjoying the day, rather than stressing about timings etc.
We were also reasonably difficult with our favours as some guests got different things - these were all laid out perfectly and in the correct places. Additional stationery was printed on request with no issues whatsoever. They even assembled our jigsaw guestbook and displayed it for the evening guests arrival which was a really nice touch.
There are probably other times that we've forgot to mention where the staff went above and beyond what would reasonably be expected and for that we will be forever grateful. The day was a resounding success and it's a day we'll...

Here's a review emphasizing the excellent service: An Enchanting Evening: Superb Service and a Delicious Vegetarian Feast! What a truly magical evening! From the moment we arrived, the experience was absolutely enchanting, not just because of the captivating magician but also thanks to the impeccable service and delicious vegetarian meal.
The catering company truly outdid themselves. Each of the three vegetarian courses was a culinary delight, thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. It's clear a lot of care went into crafting a menu that was both satisfying and flavorful, proving that vegetarian dining can be incredibly exciting. Every dish hit the mark, leaving us thoroughly impressed. Beyond the food, the welcome we received was incredibly warm and inviting. The team greeting everyone set a wonderful tone for the night.
Their genuine smiles and helpfulness made us feel instantly comfortable and valued. Throughout the evening, the catering staff were attentive, efficient, and exceptionally friendly, ensuring drinks were topped up and every need was met without ever being intrusive. It felt like they genuinely wanted everyone to have a fantastic time, and that personal touch made all the difference.
Combined with the dazzling magic show, which was a spectacle of wonder and skill, this was an evening of pure enjoyment. The seamless coordination between the entertainment and the outstanding catering truly made for a memorable event. Read moreWe had the perfect wedding day at House For An Art Lover on 5th January 2023 and can’t recommend the venue enough. Emily Brawley, wedding coordinator extraudinaire, is worth her weight in gold. From start to finish she made the process simple and she was an absolute pleasure to plan with. It was amazing to have someone in the know at the venue to check in with when we were unsure and to pull it all together. The venue itself is stunning! All of our guests commented on that. We had very little to do decoration wise because The House is so special all by itself. This took a lot of stress out of planning the day. I can’t talk highly enough about the food. A few months before we were invited to a tasting and the food was amazing. I was over the moon when on the day, even though the kitchen was catering to so many people, the food was equally as fabulous. Again our guests all commented on it being the best food they’d had at a wedding. The staff on the day were exceptional. We felt so welcome and comfortable all day. Our coordinator on the day Sarah was an absolute gem. Nothing was too much hassle. Sarah was patient, helpful and kind all day and night. We wanted a smallish, intimate wedding and I can genuinly say I felt as if I was in my own home having my guests over. It was such a comfortable, easy and happy day. House for an Art Lover is a perfect venue for a wedding any time of year but was particularly great for our wedding in January. Throughout the day we moved from room to room in the house which I loved. The weather was poor but as we had all the different rooms to use in photos it really didn’t matter that we couldn’t get outside. We had the most amazing day with our family and friends here and genuinly feel we got married in one of the most special places...
