Cambourne Nature Reserve — Attraction in South Cambridgeshire

Enjoyed another gentle walk through the reserve this morning and saw the muntjac deer again. Also encountered a swarm of bee's when I came out of the forest walking towards the flats. I believe they were honey bee's looking for a new place but walking into thousands of them with my dog was quite daunting. I didn't hang about and crossed over the road and up round the back of the vet's. Lovely walk through with my dog, on the lead, and with the added bonus of seeing a muntjac deer walking right in front of us. I really like Cambourne Nature Reserve: it's a wonderful area for a walk away from the bricks and concrete of Cambourne, and easily accessible from most of the village. The lakes are very picturesque, and the rolling landscape gives a sense of privacy and quiet. In the summer you can watch dragonflies and fish, and might even spot a deer. Lovely little nature reserve spread across 2 areas either side of the road. One side is the car park, which is free, and woodland walk and the other has the two lakes and a nice walk up the hill.
