Greens — Restaurant in South Cambridgeshire

Nice enough place, however, I have to say I have never been greeted with so many disapproving and judgemental looks from staff in such a short space of time. First it was because I wanted to sit at a table outside by myself and have a coffee (instead of, presumably, bringing twelve of my friends to enjoy a twelve course banquet), once joined by my family we were greeted by disapproval for bringing kids with us (presumably because my four old had the audacity to run up to me for a hug). This started off as a pleasant experience but then rapidly deteriorated when I asked a member of staff for the biggest piece of flapjack (or similar) as I was sharing it with a friend. She obviously wasn't happy about this request and was even unhappier when I politely questioned her about her choice of piece she gave us. The duration of our lunch became increasingly uncomfortable as she shared her discontent with her colleagues, resulting in covert whispering and dirty looks from all serving staff. This is a COVID-19 review. When I visited, Greens was only open for takeaway, with no outside seating, but this is only to comply with Government recommendations/regulations. All staff were masked, there was a one way system in operation and there was hand sanitiser available. Their cakes are great (I enjoyed their yoghurt topped flapjack), they have a good selection of soft drinks, and their hot chocolates are great. The only minor issue to be aware of is some of the soft drinks (Coke etc) are only in glass bottles, which makes them less suitable for takeaway if your kids are prone to dropping stuff, or you want to be able to close the bottle and...
