I highly recommend visiting this amazing pleasure beach park, which is situated alongside a beautiful, clean sandy beach. There is so much for kids to enjoy, including a wide variety of rides. Entry to the park is free, but you will need to purchase a Fun Card, which works like a pre-paid payment card that you can scan before going on each ride. The rides are affordable, costing between 2-2.5 fun points or £2-£2.5 per person, regardless of age.
During our visit, my entire family enjoyed every single ride, and we pre-paid £40 using our Fun Card. However, there are top-up payment machines located all over the park if you need to add more funds. There are also plenty of places to eat, although I would recommend avoiding eating before going on any of the rollercoaster rides. We missed out on the opportunity to eat because the shops were closing around 5 pm.
You and your family will love every minute at this park. There is a large parking lot available near the fish and chips shop that costs only £5 for the whole day. If you have enough time, I suggest taking a walk around the beach area, which is even more beautiful. You can see two lighthouses across from each other, making it a mesmerizing sight, especially during the sunset. Additionally, you can see the Tynemouth Priory and Castle from a distance, especially from the parking area and the beach, as well as from the Pleasure park area.
If you are a lover of haunted places, like me, you must visit the Tynemouth Priory, which is known to be haunted by a Black Monk, a Pirate loot, and demon fairies. Unfortunately, I did not have enough time to visit, but I have already planned to visit it next time.
Overall, this pleasure beach park is an excellent place to visit with your family. It offers a lot of entertainment, food options, and stunning scenery that will make your visit...

Its one of my families best places to visit.
Ocean beach itself has a few big rides, a few smaller rides and a few stalls like hook a duck etc, plenty of places to buy food.
The entire park is surrounded by amusements, one in particular with even more inside, soft play, bowling alley (the food available in the bar within the bowl g alley is absolutely superb and VERY reasonably priced.
Just along from ocean Park is a pirate themed crazy golf course.
About a minutes walk brings you out to a beautiful beach with life guard patrol or if you come out of ocean beach and turn right and walk along, there is another lovely beach.
Across the road from ocean beach are 2 large park areas.
The park on the right hand side has a miniature ride on train that goes around the pond, duck and swans swim on the pond. Further up through the park are 2 playgrounds, one for smaller children and one for bigger children, they are opposite so you can watch all the children wherever they are.
If you bring a picnic there is a huge area to sit on, play football, tag etc.
All in all an absolutely brilliant way to spend a family...
Read moreOcean Beach Pleasure Park in South Shields is a brilliant day out for families, kids, and thrill-seekers alike. Set right on the seafront, the location is perfect — with stunning coastal views, easy parking, and plenty of nearby food spots and arcades to make a full day of it.
The park offers a great mix of rides for all ages. For younger children, there are plenty of gentler options like the teacups, mini rollercoasters, and carousels. For teenagers and adults, the adrenaline rides like the Ghost Train, Waltzers, and the Extreme Force swing are seriously thrilling. They’re well maintained, and the safety staff are friendly and professional.
One of the best things about Ocean Beach is the token system — it’s great value for money, especially if you buy in bulk online before you go. There’s no entry fee, so you only pay for the rides you want to go on. That makes it ideal for families with kids of different ages.
There’s also a soft play area, amusements, go-karts, and a laser maze to mix things up — so there’s plenty to do beyond just the rides. Overall, a fun, affordable, and well-run park that delivers a great...
