Unusual cakes here and very generous sized teapots. Don't be deceived by the unpromising frontage. It doesn't look very fancy yet the food is. My son had a very moist chocolate orange cake with chocolate swirl sauce decor and my daughter couldn't finish her huge portion of Banoffee pie. I could see people ticking into ice cream sundaes at other tables or toasted teacakes. Prices are comfortable and they have a captive clientele as this is the only cafe by rh boating lake. You do not win such a prestigious license to sell though unless your food is very good. Well worth a visit. I go to Minchellas in the park on a regular basis and I have nothing but praise for all the staff there. Denise always meets you with a smile, she is always friendly and welcoming. Ann and Paige always have a smile and are constantly on the go. All the staff are excellent and you can see the younger staff learn from the others as they too are always pleasant. The food is lovely and never disappoints, the eggs are especialy delicious and the chef gets them perfect every time. I have had various meals here and have enjoyed every single one. Lovely little place next to the pond plenty of tables to sit great atmosphere food was amazing only thing that let it down was my wife wasn’t finished her food and the waitress came over just started taking plates and cups putting her arms over the table over my wife’s plate well she’s still eating witch put her off her food and then decided to put a hot tea pot on the tray witch my son was sitting next to and he could have touched it and really burnt his self other then...
