Been coming here since I was very small (most likely around 20-25 years) learnt to ride my bike here as well. Really beautiful park to walk around, loads of space for activities and in the warmer weather a picnic, currently (25th March 2024) there is a large area of the park near the lake that is flooded, publice toilets are closed so you will need to use the toilets at the entrance (car park). Love having a walk around here and the café there is great for a coffee and food, it is dog friendly. There's a pub at the top left of the park which is a beautiful Old pub with loads of history. The play area is great for the kids (of course) would have loved it as a kid. Overall a great park!

A beautiful place for a nice family walk, with stacks of wildlife variety. Also, just a short walk away you can find St Albans Cathedral, which is home to resident Peregrines, which have nested there the last two years - Furthermore, if you are lucky you may see a kingfisher along the small river Ver running alongside the lake. The reason this is a 4 not a 5 star is that it sometimes gets very crowded, and also the lake can get disgustingly dirty at points.

The park is quite large, it contains the Roman wall and Mosaic and it offers stunning views of the cathedral. There are paid parking facilities at the entrances and toilets in the park. The walk around the park is pleasant and there are information plaques scattered around showing the history of the area. I visited in autumn and in summer and both times it was a pleasure. The walkway around the park is shaded which I appreciate!

Beautiful lake to walk alongside and see all the geese and swans floating on the water and waddling around on the grass.

Need to be very careful with kids and the pavements are in some places very slippery and could be dangerous if kids are running around as it’s next to the open water.

Benches located alongside the lake for a little sit down and rest from walking. Perfect way to watch the animals float by and relax.

Really enjoyed having a walk around here on a hot...
