Been coming here since I was very small (most likely around 20-25 years) learnt to ride my bike here as well.
Really beautiful park to walk around, loads of space for activities and in the warmer weather a picnic, currently (25th March 2024) there is a large area of the park near the lake that is flooded, publice toilets are closed so you will need to use the toilets at the entrance (car park).
Love having a walk around here and the café there is great for a coffee and food, it is dog friendly.
There's a pub at the top left of the park which is a beautiful Old pub with loads of history.
The play area is great for the kids (of course) would have loved it as a kid.

Need to be very careful with kids and the pavements are in some places very slippery and could be dangerous if kids are running around as it’s next to the open water.
Benches located alongside the lake for a little sit down and rest from walking. Perfect way to watch the animals float by and relax.

Also, just a short walk away you can find St Albans Cathedral, which is home to resident Peregrines, which have nested there the last two years - Furthermore, if you are lucky you may see a kingfisher along the small river Ver running alongside the lake.
