Nice courtyard for outside (covid permitted) dining but food was very overpriced for what it was. We went on a Sunday so they had a different menu on but we went on a recommendation and was very disappointed. The roast was extremely basic and very much what you could easily cook yourself at home. Flavourless boiled veg rather than anything more tasty such as roasted or caremlised carrots etc. and none of the 'extra' trimmings that are sometimes available (and no suitable sides available either such as cauliflower cheese etc.) - I didnt fancy a garlic bread with my roast....! Also had an extremely limited menu for vegetarians/pescatarians and no veggie roast available. My other half had a very odd fish dish and whilst the fish was cooked well how it came and what it came with was very odd and seemed out of place on a menu that only other options were roasts. Good beers and friendly service although took a long time to get attention to ask for the bill. A shame as we were hoping for better,...

Staff were friendly, however the only vegetarian option available on Sunday afternoon (cheese and onion pie with mash) was really disappointing. Apparently they'd run out of veggie roast dinners even though the place was almost empty - then their approach to this dish was perfunctory; the pie tasted bland since it consisted primarily of potato, as well as being sat on a further pile of mashed potato, albeit swimming in generic bisto gravy alongside a stingy portion of frozen peas (half a tablespoon's worth) - Several years back (under different management) the food here was actually amazing since the chef could actually cook. As a result I felt duped and will not be returning. Got the impression their food was simply reheated on the premises rather than being cooked there with any skill and passion. Meanwhile this dish costed approx...

Popped in for a drink for the first time since reopening on Sunday (15th Jan) with my partner and we both loved it so I returned today with my mum and grandma for some food at lunchtime. The man working was lovely and super friendly and welcome as soon as we arrived, an amazing selection of wine, craft beer/lagers and real ale on offer and we also had some food which was incredible! I went for the sausage and mash but my family’s choices of the vegan burger and pie and mash looked equally as tasty, they also have lighter lunch options of sandwiches, jacket potatoes, etc as well as their main meals menu. Will definitely be coming here regularly as it has all the elements of a great...

Absolutely superb! It’s been a long time since we have been made to feel so very welcome when entering a restaurant/pub besides our local. Very warm and relaxed, extremely friendly. Every member of staff should feel proud of themselves and the job they are doing 👍🏻 We popped in not knowing it was steak Thursday and we had the most amazing rib eye, I went so far as to personally thank the chef! Very fair prices considering how well the food was prepared! A great place for a relaxed meal and/or a pint 👍🏻 We will certainly be back and very much look forward to it! Thanks for a lovely evening 🙏🏻

What a cracking little pub in the back streets of Snalbans! Great bar design feels like a proper old pub that has survived into the modern era! Has a wide range of beers check around the corner for the Keg wall. Excellent lighting plus real candles burning. I had a fantastic fish and chips brilliant chips and small but excellent mushy peas and curry sauce, and a very decent ( but exxie ££ ) Guinness. Bar and restaurant staff very warm and friendly. They have a Spotify playlist “The Verulam” which hit the sweet spot for me 70/80/90’s. Highly recommended and will go again.

The Verulam Arms has always been one of our absolute favourites — we’ve been coming here for years when we are back in the area and it never disappoints. The service and food are consistently excellent, and the craft beer range is one of the best. The staff are always lovely and welcoming, and it’s wonderfully dog friendly — our whippet never wants to leave! It’s a cosy, relaxed neighbourhood pub with real character. Places like this are the heart of the community and deserve to be valued and supported. Long may it continue! Thanks again 🙏
