A great unspoilt beach which allows dogs all year and encourages responsible owners. There are so many places these days where you can go as a family, pet included, where you can enjoy the sea and have facilities on hand such as life guards and cafes. It's a fairly small beach and when the tide is in it disappears entirely so be sure to check the tide times, when the tide is out however there is a generous stretch which suits most families.

In the morning the sun can be obscured by the cliffs but by the afternoon it blazes down on the sand and soon warms up - even in late September.

There is "Breakers Surf School" operating on the beach and they hire wetsuits and boards at a very reasonable price. If you are looking for somewhere that isn't too intimidating or surrounded by thousands of people then this is a great...

It's very good for surfers as there are many big waves. There is a lot of seaweed on the beach and in the water which in my personal preference, put me off of the beach but the sights are lovely. There are a couple of caves that you can explore but they arent that big. The closest car park is usually busy but there is a long stay car park just before the main one which I was able to get into. There arent lifeguards 24/7 as I think they leave around 6 o clock give or take but it's easy enough to figure out wheres safe and wheres not. It's not a massive beach like crantock beach or newquay town beach but it's big enough for people to spread out as it isnt a popular beach. I found out about it...

What an absolute hidden gem! Booked (Koru)kayaking based here for my sons, which they commented was "amazing"! It was the first week in August and a hot, busy day. The beach area soon filled up. Bustling, but not stressful. Lifeguards were buzzing around. The surf was good. Lots of body boarding/surfing going on.It is a very steep walk down from the VERY busy, small car park. The pub (Verdant brewery yay!) had a great selection of drinks and a delicious selection of pizzas on the menu. It inspired us to visit Verdant Brewery in Falmouth (which is also highly recommended!). We highly recommend a visit here. It's an absolute treasure for families. Wish we'd found it when my...

Wonderful beach, will always be one of my favourite spots. The beach, the cliffs, the cottages, the sea... its undeniably stunning. Perfect place for whatever you are wanting from a beach day, whether it's a walk along the coastal path, surfing, building sandcastles, rockpools, or just an ice-cream looking out to sea. There are two reasonable carparks, one next to the beach one slightly further up. There are shops and cafes along the road down to the cove including an artists gallery, and down into the cove there is a pub that serves food outdoors and in, a lovely cafe with lots of vegan options, and a restaurant with a balcony that looks out over the cove. Not one to be missed

Trevellas Porth Cove is just around the corner from St Agnes. The valley here was once at the heart of a large scale mining operation (the Blue Hills mine) the ruins of which remain as a poignant reminder of the area's industrial heritage. Today, this is one of the North coast's quieter beaches with rarely more than a handful of people on the sandy shingle beach. It's a great spot for snorkelling on calm days like this but with no lifeguard present it isn't an ideal family beach.

Many childhood hours were spent on this beach with my grandparents and parents. I am now a grandparent and have followed the tradition with my children and grandchildren. When the tide is out there are magical rock pools to explore and larger pools to sit in. The beach is sandy with a pebble apron but ghe sea is clear and surfer's love it. A couple of nice cafes are at the entrance to the beach so coffees and ice creams are not far away. Bring a spade to dig a moat.
