Hate to do this guys as the reception we got was great and the chicken and chorizo pasty I heard on 2 accounts tasted lovely. However I'm now sat outside our motorhome with my partner who is being violently sick, I luckily couldn't sample the food as I'm gluten intolerant! But not only this another of our party, I've not long been told is also feeling the same and being sick.. the 2 both eaten one each. Other than this myself and our party have all eaten the same throughout the day. After going through the reviews there are a few accounts of being sick afterwards and also undercooked food!! What is actually going on here??? We have 2 full days left of our holiday, tomorrow being a booked trip to the Eden project for 4 people and our 9month year old... This has totally ruined the week now, and may cause us to cancel a none refundable trip in excess of £130.. I await your response and hope there aren't many others today who where tempted to try the Chicken Chorizo Pasty!!! Mike
In response to your reply:
To say it wasn't this undercooked or reheated pasty is bull! 'usually' is a very loose term, so to say food poisoning usually takes place after 24-48hrs is rubbish. Severe can happen within hours, stated all over the internet. To point out one last time; this meal is the only time we have as a group not all eaten the same thing. The 2 who had the pasties where the ones who had food poisoning! I'm not after anything other than to make you aware you need to be careful in the future as you may ruin somebody else's...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious bakery located at the top of the village near to the main church and the St. Agnes Hotel in Churchtown, this bakery is the very best! You can smell the freshly baked goods all the way down the street and its delightful. Wonderful selection of pasties, sausage rolls, breads, cakes, etc. I got the vegan garlic sausage roll, which was absolutely delicious. The pastry was ridiculously crispy flaky and light, fresh doughnuts (raspberry and chocolate), which tasted like nothing I've ever eaten before! So light & fluffy & jam packed( pardon the pun) with loads of filling which just oozed out with each bite! They also sell local organic honey, which is divine! A large sourdough loaf and a coffee! Which was the best I had in the village. Prices are very reasonable and they also have non dairy milk (oat and soya) and they sell ice creams, smoothies etc. There were people queueing up, which is always a good sign! The girls in the bakery were all so very lovely friendly kind and helpful 😊 I can't...
Read moreWe drove 3 hours just to visit St Agnes bakery. When we arrived at 1.30, there was no stock out and the staff were cleaning. I asked what they had left and with a sign whilst they carried on cleaning they reeled off a few options. I told them what I'd like and with no response they just grabbed the food and told me the price. It felt like we were a huge inconvenience. The pork and apple sausage roll was delicious and I can understand why people would want to go for that. The lamb and mint was nice but not to my taste. The pasty was too salty for me but well packed so again, thumbs up there. The scones were dry and crumbly as if they'd been previously frozen (just my opinion) but flavour was nice. Overall I'm disappointed I travelled so long just because of the customer service made me feel...
