Great historical site that is in Bancroft Park in Milton keynes. I went on a tour of the site and the surrounding area, with a Park's Trust guide who was very knowledgeable of the history of the roman villa. The tour was part of the Heritage days that are held every September nationwide, so if you get an opportunity to experience a tour of Bancroft Roman Villa, please you will find it a lot more rewarding if you go on a tour, but there are information boards at the site to explain the history and, what was found when archaeologists unearthed the site. Nearby is a roman site within walking distance at Blue bridge.

Visited early on Christmas morning and there was the occasional friendly dog walkers in the park area out and about but there was plenty of room around us to share the space. The ruins were perfectly fine to walk around even when the ground was wet, only a few small puddles on the site itself. It's a nice spot to stroll, take a dog-walk or explore the ruins and it was a tidy area with dog waste bins by the car park.

Bancroft Roman Villa is located in the Bancroft district of Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire. The villa was partially excavated in the 1970s, then more fully in 1983-7, becoming one of the most extensively excavated Roman villas in Britain. The principal rooms have been marked out in Bancroft Park and the fish-pond has been reconstructed.

Really?! I've lived in Milton Keynes for 38 years and I never knew this was on the doorstep!!!! So pleased I took the wife and dogs there. Dog bins provided and free car park. Roman villa ruins dating back to first century. Definitely gonna take family members to see it when they come to visit in the future.

Free to visit with free nearby parking & a small cafè. Good information boards & very well maintained by The Parks Trust. Childrens playground not too far away too. Great for family walks or dog walks. Concrete Cows not far away along a bridle track then onward to Bradwell Abbey, excellent circular walk

Not too much to see, but the information boards do a good job explaining the history of the site (although they are a bit damaged and old, can still be read). Free car park and a nice walk from the ruins, past the concrete cows, to Bradwell Abbey and back.
