Brightlingsea beach is a backwater that's a bit frayed around the edges but still has plenty to offer in these Covid afflicted times.
The beach area has plenty to amuse kids for free. You can go crabbing, kite flying and paddle in the sea water pool which has it's own beach. The toilets have been refurbished so are clean and fresh. Open air showers are available along with taps for fresh water. The lido is currently closed but work on it is underway.
The boating lake is also shut due to restrictions along with the little museum but the place has a certain charm and I'd visit again. There's a thriving boating community in the marina area and a pleasant picnic facilities near the beach.

There’s a small coffee shop with refreshments which makes very good coffee. Parking spaces is good and there’s a ramp for wheelchair users. Also there’s a play ground and opposite to the parking area there’s a skateboard park. On our way to the beach we also pass a Lido. I thinks there’s more to explore but We run...
