The shepherd’s pie arrived with hearty chunks of meat in place of the usual mince, and it was genuinely impressive—rich, flavourful, and satisfying. Less successful were the accompaniments: greasy onion rings that added little, and whole cooked tomatoes that felt more decorative than thoughtful. Still, this is a wine bar rather than a pub, and you can forgive a touch of style over substance. Closing at 5.30pm on a Thursday was a surprise, but I’d happily return in a year’s time to see how the offering has evolved.

Really nice, quite, well run restaurant overlooking the harbour. Service was lovely and genuine really friendly. Restaurant was very clean. Good menu with good selection of starters, main and dessert dishes. Very nice chilled relaxed vibe and ambience. Highly recommened away from the tourist crowds of other close by seaside locations, we would definitely go back. Dog friendly seating outside too.

We were walking around the beautiful Brightlingsea and found a perfect little wine bar looking out over the sea and a load of lovely yachts. The staff were amazing, Estelle, Amy and Ellie made us all feel very welcome and sitting in the sun watching the light glisten off the sea's surface made us all feel like we were on holiday. Thanks all x

Arrived there in a family party, some of us were admiring the boats in the harbour and one of the servers came up and told us that we needed to be seated ok this is a new world and for two of us our first major trip out. Put us at ease and feel welcome not. We then ordered drinks and when they turned up one was missing after about 15 minutes my son went to find out where it was and ask if someone was going to take our food order but was curt let told he could not stand inside and was felt to feel like a naughty school boy, the waitress after another 10 minutes wondered up to the table and asked what do you want we explained but no apology just a curtness as to you can’t afford this place. She then went and got our bill and was quite rude to us, not a Thankyou or hope all was ok etc. They missed out on a very large order that in this world at the moment a lot of businesses would lick there lips at. The one star I gave was for the scenery of the harbour and the boats not...

We have been here quite afew times and always enjoyed both the food and drink but also the beautiful view. Consequently we chose this venue to hold my mother in law's wake. It was excellent. The food was beautiful and the service exceptional. The staff worked hard and were patient and polite at all times. Everyone commented on what a fantastic place it was and also on how my mother in law (notoriously difficult to please!) would have appreciated and even, dare I say it, enjoyed the afternoon. The immediate family ended up staying much longer than we planned but the barman never once compained and continued to serve us happily. Thank you to all the staff, i couldn't recommend you all...
