Lovely sandy beach. There is just one cafe and gift shop. No rides or other entertainment. My advice is to bring your own food if you are planning to stay a while. But bring it wrapped to avoid the sand getting to it. A tent or something to provide shade is recommended. If you have chairs I would bring these along as the lovely sand does tend to get into everything and everywhere. Beach shoes are recommended especially when the tide goes out. Hats, sun cream and talcum powder to get the sand off are important. Bring a bag to carry away any rubbish. I would look up the tide times as there's a few hours where young kids for example can't splash about as the water is too far out. They can certainly build lots of sand castles though. I didn't use the toilets so can't comment on them. I had some ice cream but didn't like it much. Both children enjoyed themselves immensely and one already requested to go back for a second visit. We went on a weekday during term time so the beach wasn't overly crowded. So if you are well prepared you can have a lovely day out.
