In it's self a delightful bay with soft sand and unspoilt, terrific for dog walking and socializing. The big, big let down is the council's continued persistence in removing the bins, they obviously expect dog owners to take their poo bags home.....mmm then the complaints roll in about inconsiderate behaviour of dog owners who leave poo bags behind ...... you decide! Council Could do with organising a beach rubbish clearing party instead of leaving it to the public! OK so it was Easter and the council brought the bins out! But, for how long? Nothing changes. Now into September and no sign of seaweed being cleared!! YET AGAIN SAME OLD SAME OLD STORY NO BINS , WONDERING IF ITS A APRIL FOOL JOKE - AS IT IS NO JOKE AT ALL FOR DOG WALKERS!!!!!

Superb sandy beach. Sometimes half of it disappears when high tide comes. I'm really enjoying the view .

A little gem of a beach, tucked away not more than a few hundred meters from the Canterbury Rd between Margate and Westgate-On-Sea. Only 1 āļø because; 1. the facilities are shocking (the toilets date back to pre-decimalisation as far as I can tell) and the cafe appears to have closed in 1978 - the same time as everything else in the area by the look of it. 2. there are a number of outfall pipes running into the sea - which is a bad look these days. 3. on street parking… which is free (yay) but far from plentiful (boo). This spot has bags of potential - come on Thanet council - pull your finger out.

Lovely sandy beach. There is just one cafe and gift shop. No rides or other entertainment. My advice is to bring your own food if you are planning to stay a while. But bring it wrapped to avoid the sand getting to it. A tent or something to provide shade is recommended. If you have chairs I would bring these along as the lovely sand does tend to get into everything and everywhere. Beach shoes are recommended especially when the tide goes out. Hats, sun cream and talcum powder to get the sand off are important. Bring a bag to carry away any rubbish. I would look up the tide times as there's a few hours where young kids for example can't splash about as the water is too far out. They can certainly build lots of sand castles though. I didn't use the toilets so can't comment on them. I had some ice cream but didn't like it much. Both children enjoyed themselves immensely and one already requested to go back for a second visit. We went on a weekday during term time so the beach wasn't overly crowded. So if you are well prepared you can have a...
