This park is large with lots of spacious grassy fields for your dogs to have a great run about on. It is a very good park to visit after, or during rain as it has solid paths to walk around on. You won't need your Wellington boots here to stay dry and clean from mud. There is a netball/basketball concrete play area. It has the nets ready and is enclosed to try to keep dogs out and maybe little children who could be knocked over by players in error, if they don't have time to stop quickly enough. There is a bowls club hidden away up one end. This is enclosed too. Next to the bowls club is a fun playground with lots of equipment to play on. This too is enclosed to keep dogs out for hygiene purposes. Nearby there are different ornaments both metal and dramatic and smaller beautifully carved people and animals. This park is full of very mature delightful trees. Please don't let your children break their branches, even in their attempts to knock down bonkers or acorns. They will fall of their own accord. The only problem with this park is that it is not enclosed in any way. This could be dangerous for children without good road sense or those who are so engrossed in their game that they unthinkingly run onto the roads surrounding this park to fetch their ball etc. I have also heard that there are some people that come and to this park to steal dogs. So keep them under control and within sight at all times. Or they could be snatched and sold or worse still used as bait dogs for the fighting dogs to practice on. One lady was approached by them and asked to buy her husky but she said that she would never sell her dog. Just be on alert with your children and...
Read moreA park created in the late 1920's. Extensive replanting in the last few years to attract wildlife and provide a more attractive landscape than the former grass desert. Home to Margate football club, public swimming pool and sports centre. A very popular park amongst the dog walking fraternity but there are very few unwelcome deposits. The park is very clean and litter is generally not an issue. Although classed as a park it is more of the common land variety as it's...
Read moreThis is a wonderful park. It had large open spaces, lovely trees and is well maintained. It's often really quiet so you can walk or run in peace. They've added new saplings recently and created more wildflower areas. The only negative is there's no permanent path around the park which means you can't push a buggy or use a wheelchair without going on to the pavement. Adding a simple path the perimeter of the park would make a huge difference to those...
