This place is amazing, Theresa and her daughter Sophia are very passionate about the alpacas. You get a short talk at the beginning about health and safety, then you go meet the boys. There's another short talk explaining about them, how to handle them then the good bit you're paired with the alpaca that suits your nature . And off you go, the trek lasts for around an hour depending on how often the boys stop for a nibble on the grass and hedgerows. At one stage you're given some chopped carrot and alpaca food to give them, and they are so gentle taking it, you can also have your picture taken with your alpaca. PLEASE do NOT believe they spit, they are very well behaved and will NOT spit at you. You can stroke them, but don't rush them, they have to get to know you 1st! If you're going with children an adult has to lead with the alpaca, apart from that it's 1 on 1. They are very gentle, and walk slow and will respond to being told no or a little pressure on the lead. It's fantastic, fun and educational. So glad we choose here, the love and passion Theresa has for the boys is infectious . Would recommend for anyone to give it a try. Also the cafe there does wonderful afternoon Tea,...
Read moreWoodland walk with some very lively alpacas. Fantastic characters all of them. The gents there were very accommodating and we went with out 10year old daughter. The only downside I would say is that the young handler appeared to take their behaviour as a personal insult. I understand that they need a firm hand, but it was at times bordering on aggressive, it did make me and our daughter feel awkward for the poor alpacas and they also appeared to be scared of the handler. They responded well to the other handlers. I also found that the alpacas were well cared for otherwise and it was a shame as we had lovely walk. As for the surrounding areas of the 'park' there were some lovely little shops where you could attend workshops for pottery, pirography, tshirt making, Steampunk workshops and other leather bags ect, glass artist and furniture designs and falconry. There was a lovely cafe and play area for...
Read more10/10 great day out! You get to walk some adorable alpacas!
Alfie was mine he acted like a stubborn teenager! It was really cute as his personality was very big!
Dart was the firm leader always moving forward and he was the most vocal!
Marcus the smallest but the most bold as he would fight for leadership
The other 4 could each have their own review but that would take forever!
Every alpaca had its own cute personality that grows on you in the 1.5hrs you are with them! They are very friendly and are easy to handle. The trek guides knew the alpacas really well and provided great care to make it a good experience. Try go on a less conventional day as it will be a lot quieter so more personal time with the animals!
You won’t be able to stop them from eating grass so don’t try. Also they love to jump in bushes and get a nice massage!
Thank you to the Two T’s for making it a...
