Oh, my days, we have found an absolute gem of a place! I'm gobsmacked that we've only just found it considering how long we've owned dogs. We've recently adopted a new pup, and a kind lady told me about this dog field whilst I was walking in my local park in AOM. It sounded great, so I googled it when I got home. I immediately booked onto their large puppy dog meet, large breed dog meet, and staffie dog meet, too. £10 a session for 50 minutes. Travelling from AOM to the location in Urmston was super quick and easy. You can also walk to the field down the Mersey route, which we might try the next visit. The routes final stretch by car takes you down a short dirt road past stables, and you can't miss the dog field as there is great signage. The car park is adequate, and we squeezed in on the end of a row. (At the end of our session, it was much busier, and cars were parked all over, I'm unsure whether there is an overflow area) There is a little drinks truck cafe, I think, called the dog house, on site. It's great to be able to warm up with a nice brew while waiting or while the dogs play. We were shown where to go to access the field for our session by a lovely lady and 2 blokes. They are all so friendly and welcoming. As it was our first time, we were given a quick brief, which I found very reassuring. Sessions are kept to a specific size for safety and comfort. The field is absolutely fantastic, we were so impressed with it. It has loads of toys spread around, a water area, an undercover area if raining, ramps, moving ramps, a tunnel, and tons of space for the dogs. The gate was manned by one of the men, so it remained secure at all times, and the perimeter fully fenced with no routes to escape. I'm not ashamed to say i genuinely welled up seeing all the puppies arriving and how happy my little one was to find some friends to play with. It was just utterly heartwarming watching such beautiful babies have loads of freedom and fun. Owners stay in the field and are responsible for their dog. You must clean up all dog mess, and if you forget your bags, there are some available on the fence. The field was understandably muddy due to the weather we've had, and it's frequent use. Wear suitable clothing and footwear. We absolutely recommend giving this field a try if you haven't. It's over an acre of space and can be booked for the socialising sessions or privately. I'm so looking forward to the next...
Read moreNot reactive dog friendly, not safe, unclean.
Advertised as suitable for reactive dogs however there's a public road right next to the field, with only chicken wire separating the two. Gaps in the fencing around, small determined dogs could escape.
The field is right next to a dog cafe with dogs barking and people coming and going - very triggering for some dogs, we had to keep our dog on a long line.
No lock on the gate, so doesn't feel secure, also no signs to say it's a bookable private field to prevent people accessing it.
Dirty and not well kept, mouldy toys everywhere and dangerous equipment that has collapsed and is now a trip hazard.
We've been to lots of fields for our reactive dogs this one actually being one of the more expensive, yet quite small, poorly kept...
Read moreFirst time using this field and it didn't disappoint! We took three setters who enjoyed playing with all of the different selection of toys. Lots to do and they were on the go for the whole time. Location is excellent, especially if you have a dog that is distracted by noise such as traffic as this is a peaceful location with no distractions. Easy to access and free parking. Next time we will take a flask of tea as a table and chairs and provided under shelter. Very happy...
