We had high expectations after a friend recommended Maturo to us, they told us all about the great food and amazing birthday experience they do for their customers. Sadly, we were left quite disappointed. I booked a table on Valentine’s Day (which is also my birthday) and messaged Maturo before hand to see if they had any special menus on for the day whilst also mentioning it was my birthday. I was told no special menus were on and that it was just the normal menu. We arrived and were greeted with welcoming staff and promptly asked did our drinks order. When we ordered our mains, I explained it was my birthday and asked what the limitations were for the ‘free birthday steak’ they advertise on your birthday and was advised that I could not have this as it was a ‘special day’ and therefore they would not honour it. After I explained that no one had told me this on the message I sent via Instagram they said they could honour it a week later which I thought was ok however didn’t understand why I couldn’t have it on my actual birthday. I then later ordered dessert, my friend had told us that they made a big deal out of birthdays and I had seen previous posts where they sang to customers ect. I had no mention of my birthday or even wished a happy birthday the entire meal and didn’t have anyone light a candle with my dessert or sing ect. I usually wouldn’t complain but we never go out on my actual birthday with it being Valentine’s Day and this year we decided to as a family with our new baby so it was quite special. The ribeye was under flavoured and my husband and I both had to add salt to our meals. For the price, I feel that this shouldn’t be the case. Neither of us were amazed by the experience or our food sadly. We will try it again in the future but won’t be rushing back...

A friend and I went in for food on a Friday and were asked if we booked, told the waiter yes and he walked away to a large table. We had followed thinking he was taking us to the enpty table next to them, but he seemed to be seeing to their needs and just left us there, not informing us of whether it was our table or not.
We awkwardly stood there for a bit before returning to the front desk area. The manager (maybe owner?) came over and sorted us out a table. We got our drinks quickly and food wait was a little long, but they were extremely busy. Sadly, I can't say the food was enjoyable.
Spicy turkish sausage was covered in a lukewarm congealed cheese sauce, and wasn't spicy. My friend had the feta wraps and said they were good though (but be warned they're big!)
For our mains, the fajitas were covered in so much oil, and lacked any seasoning! I also suggest that you bring your own wraps too, as they give you plenty of meat and veg etc. but only 2 wraps (it's one tortilla cut in half). This just wasn't enough for the dish.
Friend had the garlic chicken, but it also had no flavour (no sauce) and the dish doesn't even come with any vegetables? Strange it lacks a basic side like those.
We weren't offered if we wantrd desserts or anything after our plates were cleared. We waited over 20 minutes until we could grab someone to eventually get our bill.
Place is extremely noisy - which I understand and expect to a certain level on a weekend. But it was unbelievably loud, where everyone has to shout so they hear each other. They also play birthday music, bang on tambourines and sing when they bring out cake to people - amazingly we heard it at least 3 times (maybe 4) that evening.
Just not my sort of place at all...
Read moreIm not normally a fan of giving critical reviews but there’s no great way around the experience.
We booked in early (5pm) as we went with our daughter so we could get away for bedtime at a reasonable time, we arrived and we’re seated before drink/food orders were taken within the first 10minuets.
Drinks arrived 5 mins later and we’d ordered starters to come with the baby’s meal. Starters arrive 45 minuets later with no baby meal the chicken strips were barely warm so initially wasn’t impressed but sucked it up as it was busy.
Order more drinks shorty after and had to chase them 20mins later as still not arrived, the baby’s meal also turned up about 20mins after the starter before the mains turn up another 20 mins later and in an extremely disappointing manner.
We’d ordered triple cheese burger and a steak with peppercorn sauce. The “burger” came out as a bowl of chips and three dry burgers stacked with a wrap folded next to it, no salad, cheese or bun!
I had to double check the menu to be sure I hadn’t gone mad and ordered something bizarre before flagging the waiter down to question what in the holy hell was sat on my table, meanwhile the steak had been sampled for the meat and sauce to be cold at which point having been here for 90mins and an ever increasingly tired child I requested food to be returned and to leave.
No efforts to apologise were made and sadly after that experience it’s not a place I could personally recommend or would want to visit again and that is a shame as for the most part reviews seem positive but my personal experience was...
