I don't know how this park has received such good reviews. It is of moderate size and not particularly well maintained. The garden flora is on its last legs, the duck pond area is small and lethal as it is surrounded by stinging wild plants so care needs to be taken when feeding (not bread) the ducks. An outstretched hand could inadvertently come into contact with said stinging plants. I wouldn't recommend you feed the ducks because you will be attacked by an unwelcome flock of audacious pigeons. The childrens play area; of which there are two, are adequate but filthy. The worst issue, and it probably cannot be helped unless the Council is prepared to plant the appropriate insect repelling plants, gnats and biting insects everywhere. It includes a bowl pitch, 2 tennis courts, 1 basketball pitch and 2 playgrounds for kids. If you need to eat something or want to enjoy just a warm drink, there is a lovely café inside close to one of the playgrounds where you can sit in or take your food and drink to the benches just outside.
