We had the absolute pleasure of being invited to Tre Ciccio in Altrincham to sample their amazing food. Tre Ciccio boast 3 venues across the Northwest area located in Ramsbottom, Bramhall and of course, Altrincham The restaurant we visited was deceptively big, a staircase lead down to an expansive, wooden-walled room with a seated area under a retractable canopy roof which would be perfect for warm summer evening, should we see them again. Service was very attentive and relatively quick, we felt welcome and wanted For my starter I decided on the Cuoppo Fritto, a Neapolitan street food style cone of lighly fried calamari, king prawns and fish served with lemon and roast garlic mayonnaise. Calimari is often my starter of choice and Tre Ciccio did it well, the light batter was delecate and great with the combination of sharp lemon and rich garlic Jade tooked into the Tomino Fritto, a delicious fried and breadcrumbed wheel of goats cheese on a bed of caramelised balsamic red onion. Check out the picture of it cut open, all the cheese exposed with the balsamic onion calling your name We both wanted pizza after seeing them on the @tre_ciccio Instagram. My partner had the Ortolana with fried courgette, aubergine and peppers, tomato sauce, fior di latte cheese, rocket and pesto. The tomamto sauce on this was delicious and reminded me of those beautiful flavours on a Neapolitan pizza I couldn't resist the Salsiccia E Firarielli as the first ingredient listed was Tuscan sausage flavoured with fennel. The sausage was right up my street, it worked so well with the chilli flakes and fior di latte cheese. Dessert was special. We weren't set on having dessert until we saw the menu, right at the bottom was "Tre Ciccio (D.G.N.S)" which was a serving of three desserts to share. This meant we got to enjoy tiramisu, Panna cotta and Torta Al Limone. All three of these were gorgeous but it.was the lemon tart that stole the show for me, it had such a delicious sharp yet sweet flavour in a perfect crust. The Panna cotta had a delicious cherry comporte and Tiramisu is always a winner in my books Tre Ciccio is an amazing restaurant

The place looks tiny when you enter but once downstairs is surprisingly roomy. My favourite thing is the main dining area, the large table we were seated at and a view of the outside. The event was enjoyed by all and it was relaxing and the young waiting staff are attentive and pleasant. Downsides - it is a bit pricey IMO. My Margherita pizza was just average and the base was chewy and hard work for my jaw! There was only tomato sauce round the edges with the cheese concentrated in the middle, which I don't especially appreciate. The prawns on toast starter was lacking flavour as the prawns seemed like they were precooked and bland with any flavour only being in the garlic butter and were disappointedly not infused; plus the fresh chillies were more like red peppers with little heat. Sorry to say I've had better and in fact could make better. A couple of the party had chicken dishes which did look very nice (there is a piece of potato I was given from their dish, seen in the photo, placed on the pizza and it was tasty!) The olives on the pizza were an extra chargeable topping. No parmesan was offered and should have been on the table. Some of the mains are quite sizeable, and had we known would have skipped starters. Nothing complimentary was offered as often is, in many restaurants. A positive experience but my food was OK at best and nothing to rave about. Just to add, the manager - or perhaps he is the owner - hasn't got the best bedside manner and seems uptight - but I think that's his personality! I don't think he would deal with customer complaints well!!

Given the number of times, I’ve nipped in for a cheeky pizza to take away, I can’t believe that I’ve not reviewed Tre Cicco before. The location is as central as it comes, with the decor and booth layout well suited to casual dining. You’ll meet up with friends and find that the appertivo soon ends up being a bottle or 2. Service staff are attentive and turn around is fast with orders delivered so quick, you’d swear they had used a crystal ball to divine your order in advance. Now their pizzas are faultless Neapolitan wood fired goodness, and hats off to them for holding their own against Proove in the market hall and Pix Pizza. I’ve not sampled their pasta offerings to see how they hold up against the acknowledged masters that are Sugo Pasta. What caught me by surprise was the lusciousness of their desserts. Great dolci should be the hall mark of a good restaurant. The panna cotta hit that perfect textural balance between wobble and melty creaminess. Combined with the dark cherry toppings it was simplicity itself. The ensemble reminded me of a similar pomegranate dessert I sampled at the Park Inn, Bangalore during my debauched university days when no restaurant soft launch was safe from my predations. Suffice it to say that you can’t go wrong with the three Franks.

I hardly ever leave negative reviews, but I felt this shocking experience tonight needs to be told. I am a local business owner in Altrincham, visited this restaurant many times before. I booked a table for two over one month in advance for a special meal to impress someone who I do business with. When I came to the restaurant I was given a table which was dark, right by a busy pathway. I asked for a table on their terrace where they had several empty tables. The manager refused stating they were fully booked . I pointed out that I booked a long time ago to make sure we had a nice table and asked if they could change my table.

I explained that it was really important for me to sit at the terrace and not in the dark spot which they offered. However, they gave us no choice and we sat there. My chair was repeatedly pushed and knocked by passing waiters. I saw that two people finished their meal and left the terrace. I asked a waiter if we could now be moved and get the table on the terrace and pointed out that it had become available. The manager then came to our table and told me to stop asking for a table on the terrace. She then said I had to accept the table where I was sat or leave. The manager was speaking to me in such a condescending way, it made me feel so unwelcome and insulted.

The lady who I invited for a meal, was also shocked by the way we were treated. We decided not to order food and leave as the attitude from the staff was extremely unfriendly . We told the staff we were leaving but we were still finishing our drinks. Whilst we were still at our table finishing our drinks, the manager came up again and said that we needed to hurry up and leave, as they needed the table.

The manager also asked if we understood English, which was also incredibly insulting and discriminatory. I was speaking to my companion in my native language which is not English. I’ve lived in England for over 20 years, I am a qualified English solicitor and consider such a question rude.

I told the manager that the customer service was awful and they should learn how to speak to customers . The manager replied that I should speak English. I was shocked. Not only we were not given the service, we were also patronised over which language to use whilst talking to each other.

This business have definitely lost me as a customer. Their staff seriously need urgent customer care lessons before they lose all their customers.

If I were the owner of the restaurant I’d be seriously concerned. I am a business owner myself and if one of my members of staff was speaking to clients like that I’d be taking serious measures.

In the end we went to Jardim Rodizio across the road and had a fantastic meal there with friendly service and...
