Unfortunately the experience was lacklustre. I wasn't going to do a review but as two of my party have and received passive aggressive replies rather than accepting the feedback, I feel as though I now need to.
As already stated by my friends, we didn't get a wide selection of meats and if we as halal customers are paying the same price as non-halal customers I'd expect a similar selection apart from the pork of course but perhaps with substitutions...
I've been to other Rodizios and never been served strips of meat on a platter. You say yourself that the Rodizio is all about interaction and part of this is the theatre of the meat being carved at the table so I don't understand this contradiction...
The atmosphere isn't great and most tables were empty. I think the issue here is price. Jardim is obviously competing with Fazenda but at only £4 less than Fazenda for an inferior Rodizio as well as an inferior salad bar offering, I would pay the extra for the better atmosphere and food offering at Fazenda. My genuine advice is that as you can't compete on the array of food offering, you must compete on price and service.
The service for our meal was bipolar - it was excellent from the aspect that they allowed us to pray in a secluded area and offered us grilled pineapple without the gammon, but on the other hand at a premium restaurant this should've been the default. Areas of improvement for the service include asking everyone in a group if their coats can be stored rather than just done individuals and to not over promise and under deliver. I really want you to succeed and sincerely hope you take this as genuine feedback and constructive criticism but await your standard passive aggressive reply....
update
Following a slanderous response where you say people in my party complained about
'lack chorizo and gammon at the table, when the party was booked as requesting halal meats. If you were the one running the business, would you find that reasonable?'
I have no choice to amend the review and reduce service from 3 stars to zero. I also suggest you reread those reviews instead of concocting lies. You have just lost me as a...
Read moreReally wanted to enjoy this restaurant! We've visited many rodizio's over the years and although the quality of the food was fantastic, we actually struggled to get fed at all! Granted, it was NYE but we did have a booking in place. We were seated in the back room, along with some other couples but majority bigger tables of 4 people or more. The meat would be brought out, offered to the large tables first, and none left for the tables of two. And then they wouldn't come back with anything else! Food came and went and hardly any touched our plates. We were seated for almost 2.5hrs over the course of the evening and barely ate! I even had to request one of the steaks be brought to us, as we had been offered chicken three times but no steak ever made it to us! What we DID eat, was delicious. So it's a shame! They even have hot sides, which is pointless as these went cold by the time we received any meat to eat it with. Don't expect a Fazenda type of salad bar - there is far less choice at Jardim but the quality of what was there, was very good and plentiful. Quality of drinks (draught beer and cocktail) was very good. We had spoken to a member of the team to let them know we weren't happy, and service did resume for around 5-10 mins and then unfortunately dropped again to the point we felt ignored. It was clear that the waiters bringing the food to tables did not have a clear and methodical way of serving each table and meant some tables had first selection and others had absolutely nothing. It's a shame! We wanted to love it and perhaps another night with staggered sittings rather than 28 people being seated together in one room for NYE would work. We mentioned to the team member again our issue, and stated we felt we didn't have the same experience as others dining and we were offered a generous discount upon the bill which we appreciated however I'm not sentimental about spending the money on a quality meal and top-notch service and don't enjoy taking money away from a small business so I hope the team take my honest feedback on board and improve their...
Read moreEven though the food is absolutely amazing, the meat is neat and possibly best meat I’ve had in Manchester, the service was horrendous. We went on Valentine’s Day which I get it, it’s busy and obviously everything is a bit delayed. But.. We were sat in the restaurant for 20min and we weren’t even offered some water. When I asked the waiter to come over so we can order, he apologised and took our drinks and sides’ order. 45min later, I watch the lady sat next to us, getting her cocktail which she only ordered 5 min ago. At that point, I need to refer we hadn’t even got water still, drinks or any sides. And the meat was moving around not being served to us as we didn’t even have anything on our table. I had to ask another waiter, who was very kind and apologetic on behalf of the other waiter. Overall, 1 hour sat in a very nice restaurant not being able to enjoy our night. The manager was very lovely and came and apologised too and the drinks were on the house but that wasn’t the point.
We had left our baby at home with the babysitter to have a romantic Valentine’s Day date for the first time after a while and we ended up coming back home quite disappointed of the overall experience.
We were shocked the initial waiter didn’t even approach our table to apologise for forgetting to send our order.
we were told the computer system messed up, but.. come on guys. I’ve been a waitress in very busy restaurants when I was younger and I’ve worked with computers or order systems that had a blackout but I was always checking everyone’s table all the time. Even if it was the computer that lost our order, he should have noticed we hadn’t even got our drinks after an hour.
Will go back for the food and hopefully will get a better...
