Having recently experienced a public restroom that required payment, my impressions were far from favorable. The inconvenience of having to pay just to access basic facilities left me with mixed feelings. Upon entering, the condition of the bathroom was disappointing. It was evident that cleanliness and maintenance were not prioritized. The lack of hygiene detracted from the overall experience, making the imposed fee feel even more unjustified. The restroom's infrastructure was in dire need of attention. Broken fixtures, malfunctioning taps, and unpleasant odors painted a grim picture of neglect. One would expect that a paid service would at least ensure a basic level of cleanliness and functionality. In essence, the combination of a fee for entry and subpar conditions created a frustrating encounter. While the concept of charging for restroom use may have its merits in maintaining facilities, the execution fell short. A paid bathroom experience should ideally offer cleanliness, hygiene, and a well-maintained environment – unfortunately, this particular instance missed the mark. Ps: The Buses are mostly late, cancelled or leave to early so don't expect much from the bus department either.

This was a great bus station for both arrival and departure, with a large area encompassing many bus platforms! Departure boards helped find the ones for each leg of my journey and signs also help navigate around, plenty of seating for waiting too. Hopping between buses was easy to do quickly and they are accessible, cleanliness left some to be desired though.

Parked for 4hrs and just had a walk round, looking at old buildings, the museum, the art gallery, cathedral.... just walking avoiding busy areas, no cafe stop but there were lots around. All day parking also behind the bus station, 20p coin for bus station toilets

I was left disgusted yesterday by the treatment of the staff inside the help point room. I have 3 year old twin boys who needed the toilet and found out that there was not a family changing room or baby change. I then asked for the disabled key since I am not leaving one child outside the toilet whilst I take the other in or squeeze both in the toilet at the same time when there is no room for one adult left alone a adult with two children. The man in the office who couldn’t even be bothered to get up to come to the window then told me that I couldn’t use the disabled toilet since I was not disabled and the nearest toilet was at trinity walk. I find this unacceptable and disgusting you don’t provide a family or baby change in a busy bus station and also discriminating me as I could have had a disability which was not physically apparent. Feeling angry and concerned for my children I then proceeded to take them to the other toilet where in the way he wet himself which made him upset and now have spiked clothes. I am extremely disappointed and will not be using the bus station in future having appalling staff...

Of all the Metro Bus Stations in West Yorkshire, Wakefield is the most disorganised.

Don't expect your bus to pull up at the indicated stand, as another bus will be parked on that stand whilst its driver goes for a sh*t or a cig at the back of the building. This despite there being parking spaces to cater exactly for this kind of eventuality.

"But, if your bus has to pull up at a different stand, the driver will get off and announce the change." say the management. This is mostly untrue, but when it has happened, the passengers are at a stand so far away they can't hear the announcement or can't get to the new stand in time before the bus leaves.

This is an ongoing problem that has been an issue for the last ten years, at least, and has not been addressed to this day, despite the number...
