Thanks Wakefield cathedral, i seem to keep visiting. Thanks to the kind lady who sat with me whilst i broke down cos i felt guilty for working at NHS and not being able to fix enough people re suicide, counselling, diseases, pets, problems, families, walking, talking, thing is i lit rows of candles, you brought me another box, i sat there with my head on my hands cos i couldnt cope with everyones problems and issues. I kept going back to light a candle, i blamed myself for everything, instead of loving myself. Thats what made me poorly, my head went, i realised i wasnt born to fix the world, i was just trying to do my best. Hope someone lights me a candle when its my turn. Thank you. You realise in life, tge people who matter and who are genuine and who are there. Thank you again...

Revisited the beautiful and very impressive Wakefield Cathedral yesterday. This magnificent place of worship was a hive of activity with general public, children's play areas and superb Art Exhibition. The exhibition entitled 'doubleTHINK' was both inspirational and thought provoking. Very large, powerful sculptures created by Bex Blayney were positioned close to the entrance giving a spectacular first impression. Blayney's work in heavy metal and concrete would sit comfortably at such venues as the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. I look forward to seeing more from this artist and future events at...

What an incredible place of worship - the welcome we experienced from Head Verger Brian was so warm and hospitable. The Head Verger displayed vast knowledge of the history and hidden gems in the Cathedral and his enthusiasm was infectious. We then went on to join the 3.30pm service which was a lovely way to end our visit before catching the train home. We will definitely visit Wakefield Cathdral again. Also the official guide is well written and illustrated and is a very interesting read -...

This is a such a beautiful building with and amazing atmosphere. They have different events on throughout the year and the staff are always welcoming and friendly. They have a lovely little cafe, where the prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Its perfect to sit and contemplate or say a prayer and you can also light a candle and ask for a prayer to be said in service which is so thoughtful. I have been going as a kid and it's is so amazing at Christmas time.

What an absolute stunning interior from the Rood Screen, to the ceilings, extensive stained glass and the tombs and monuments inside. I visited at around 8.20am, was surprised to see it open opening time was 8am and for people.lile me who want to marvel at the interior going that early is worth it a I had the Cathedral to my self. They also had a selection of guide books for sale which help to support the Cathedral.

Visited this evening for the Gaia event, absolutely amazing. Their was a long wait time earlier in the day but we turned up about 6ish on the Saturday evening and were straight in. There were a few families around but plenty of space. It’s an amazing event in a beautiful setting. A plus being that the toilets are open so if you are big and pregnant like myself you can make the most of the free toilets 😂🌎
