Bowring District Park — Attraction in Wellington

A lovely park to walk your dog, one side is tarmac the other grass but easy to walk around the perimeter. There are about 5 or 6 spaces as you pull in through the single traffic gate of Haygate Road and just before the Bowring cafe. If you drive past the cafe at 5mph behind the tennis courts there is a further longer parking area to park which has like a hexagan pattern and soil floor. Great open space, beautifully maintained beds round the bowling greens, tennis courts are free and well looked after with good nets and fencing around, play equipment is clean and well maintained but a shame there's minimal play equipment for the children with some items removed when broken and not replaced, there are a lot of people it serves in the area, cafe is the biggest reason to stop by, great service, seating inside and out cracking food and coffee is...

Whenever I go to see family I take the dog to Bowring Park. Other dog walkers are always friendly and happy to chat. Not made use of the cafe yet but it always seems busy so I will stop there next visit.

The only downside on my last visit was when I stopped at the park with the car. Someone hit my vehicle and didn't have the courtesy to leave a note. How they did it bewilders me but I am left with picking up the bill for a respray job. Not cheap when...
