Good to average food, terrible service, which is is why it looses points. I can't fault the friendliness of staff or menu but in terms of catering the cafe really needs an injection of training on how to get food out to customers quickly.

Food is often slow to turn up after ordering, so quite often you'll have long finished your hot drink by the time food turns up. For the price a ham & cheese toasted sandwich shouldn't look like its been made from wonderloaf, when Wellington prides itself on several fresh food & bread establishments.

You can't run a cafe like that. Menu is cafe/gastropubish. Has the benefit of being wheelchair accessible, including the toilets. Popular with locals and visitors and runs live music/other events in evening (or did before Covid)

Google only lets you edit reviews. Feb 2024.Big improvement at least when just opened. Came in on the Sunday a bit after 10am opening times, after wandering in and asking if the cafe was open Staff had forgetting to switch the open/close sign on the door. Went for the breakfast minus has browns and mushrooms. Asked for tea with the meal (no one wants a cold cuppa).

The quality of bread has really improved, no more wonder loaf style. Breakfast was tasty, bread/toast decent chunky slices, which you'd expect in a cafe like this. Tea was a decent, not oversized cup. Cost at under £11 quid inc drinks, about average for some places. Cafe did get busy later in the morning. Still maintains the C.S Lewis decor. With the Lion, the Witch & the...

went to gratitude cafe with my brother today he ordered our food and drinks and then brought the drinks over to our table we had not seen each other for a while so were busy catching up when after just over half an hour he noticed that people who had arrived well after us were being served food he approached the member of staff behind the counter to enquire where our food was after a little time searching they found the food order had slipped off the table and been missed now these things can happen but its how you deal with it from there that matters ini tially they refused to refund my brother and said they would now process the order which would have been ok if we had the time but we didnt eventually he was refunded and we left the sadness is that this is clearly a popular place but when you get it wrong which we all do from time to time be gracious and do not go on the offensive as im sorry but in our eyes a little more gratitude and a little less attitude would...

This is an absolutely wonderful little café. The first thing you notice on entry is the delightful and individualistic decor which helps to create a pleasant and relaxed ambiance. Food is first class: home made using locally sourced ingredients of high quality. The menu includes, alongside traditional offerings, some very unusual and tasty options. There is a wide range of home baked cakes. Drinks are also excellent, with the quality of coffee beans used being particularly high. Food and drinks provide excellent value for money. The young service team combine a friendly and welcoming approach to customers with a high standard of efficiency. They are happy to accommodate individual preferences. We use this café at least weekly and have never been disappointed. We have introduced it to a number of friends who have greatly appreciated it. On two occasions we have taken French friends who have been...

Dropped by for a quick lunch on a Saturday in September, the cafe was quite full but we managed to get a table for two near the counter. The menu had all day breakfast options including pancakes alongside some delicious sounding sandwich choices, we opted for avocado, mushroom and egg on sourdough and the sweet chilli chicken melt. The avocado sandwich came with a small side salad and the chicken melt with a generous helping of fries. Both were well presented and absolutely delicious, we were too full for cakes afterwards but decided to take away a Cruffin and millionaire's shortbread which again were excellent. We enjoyed it so much that we went back for a cooked breakfast a few days later which was also very good. This will be our go-to cafe from now on.

2nd visit we had lunch this time. Mum had the ploughman's which was presented lovely with good variety. 3 cheeses, ham and pork pie. The pie was the only let down every thing else was delicious. I had pastrami and cream cheese bagel. Delicious, bagel wasn't hard and enough for lunch. Was busy for a Wednesday lunch time. Drinks are good the smoothies and shakes coming out looked yummy feel that I need to try. All reasonably priced. Good atmosphere. 3rd visit, menu changed, Mum had the maple glazed ham, egg, chips and beans. 2 slices of ham delicious, I had avocado, mushrooms, scramble egg on sourdough with a chilli sauce again delicious. Atmosphere as good busy for a Monday.
