Free! But we made a donation as it's very worthwhile. Small and quite intimate displays varying from local history to some very beautiful historical clothing and costumes. The current art exhibition left me cold though. It might impress the locals but I'm a Londoner used to better. However, there is an exhibition on at the moment about the Covid Pandemic that I found particularly moving, especially as I was with my 10 year old grandson. For him, Covid will become as big a thing in history as the Great Plague. We are living through that experience and his generation will be telling his grandchildren about it. The display consisted of photos of various tradespeople and artists as well as everyday folk such as carers and shop workers who all did their best to sustain our nation, in their own ways, through this crisis. There is also a display of their shoes. Inanimate objects, yet they convey more than you would think about the personalities and aspirations of the wearers as they worked their way through the pandemic doing their bit, not knowing how things would turn out in the end. It speaks for the entire national effort and for all our fears and hopes. Very...

This is a really charming multi level museum / art gallery for those who like history, design, contemporary art, photography and sculptures. It's extremely family friendly with children's areas, educational activities and exhibits with fashion & costumes, old artefacts and various local and household items throughout time. If you're

The best part is it's spacious, quiet, and FREE to enter. If you're looking for an activity to do on a budget, it's worth supporting this local gem.

Each room has a different theme with large open plan spacing, even on a weekend you feel like you're in you're own little art world.

There's a beautiful gift shop in the reception / entry with small items, books, children's gifts and small pieces from local artists and creators that are perfect for giving as a present for someone special or treating yourself. The cards are a highlight, with so many designs for...

Where to begin? The Museum has plenty fantastic historical exhibits showing some of the most interesting parts of the history of Worthing and the surrounding area. The history covers prehistoric, stoneage, Roman, Saxon etc all the way through to modern times. We spoke with one staff member, James Sainsbury, he is incredibly knowledgeable and was so friendly and approachable it really made the visit even more special as he spoke with such passion. The displays change from time to time so it is always worth popping back to revisit this wonderful museum. It's a great free day out with little ones, old ones and everyone in between. I and my family will be visiting again very soon and will be taking the grandparents with us so we can all learn more about the rich history of Worthing and it's surrounds together. I would offer a sixth star if at all...

This is an excellent local museum. There is an archaeological section with info on the geology of the area as well as artefacts. Fashion is the speciality of the museum, with many outfits that are hundreds of years old as well as some modern replicas made from paper. When we visited there was an exhibition of work from "invisible people" that was very moving. Taking the Japanese idea of kintsugi, when items are repaired visibly, so that the broken parts become beautiful, people reflect on their broken lives in works of art. This is a well-curated museum which good exhibitions that interact with the local community.

Very interesting, particularly the areas of local interest and archaeology. I went with my granddaughter and we both really loved the Trevor Scobie exhibition and hope to meet him on Saturday 20th July. For anybody wanting to know more about the West Sussex area and what's on, Worthing Museum is a great place to start. Just wish I'd visited years ago. It's quite eclectic and next time I would like to concentrate more on the clothes and fabrics. You can simply pop in and spend a short time or take longer, it really doesn't matter and is a great way to introduce young people to a museum.
