Look no further than THE Happy Teapot if you’re looking for a friendly face, quality tea or coffee and great food. We had a great afternoon here recently. The photo is of the Ploughman’s Afternoon with my wife having the vegetarian option. In fact you’ve got three or four options for afternoon tea to choose from. All quite delightful. Service was excellent. Please do try them, it’s off the beaten track, so to speak ( not far from the town centre, opposite the Library). One of Worthing’s hidden treasures that the local people don’t want the tourists to know about! Worth booking in advance as it can be very busy. You wont be disappointed!

Love it! Lovely little Tea room opposite Worthing’s library. Caters for everyone, sandwiches to jackets for lunch. To a full on Afternoon Tea. So many Cakes to choose from. No matter your dietary requirements I’m sure they will have something for you. Looks to have Gluten free, Diary free cakes - and has lots of Vegan options too. I’ve also had breakfast on serval occasions, which is also really good quantity for a very reasonable price! Coffee is amazing too.

We booked a table to celebrate my friends baby shower, the reservation process over email was smooth and when we arrived to the place looked nice and also the food.

Unfortunately the service that was provided was really poor to say the least - a table booked for 13 people, with only one option of menu (which we accepted) - waiter unhappy with me because 2 people arrived late as if it was my fault, we brought an extra child which was not in the list and not only she wanted to force us to get him an adult menu, but also responded that she had already gone above and beyond to help us!!! Apologies but we went to her shop and paid for everything as a normal customer - so not sure what she did to go above maybe angrily allowing us to hang some balloons.

She brought the food to the table and told me off because I swap some of my food with my child- as if she had any right!

The most uncomfortable part of us was seeing how she was treating the rest of guests different than me when I had done nothing - which was pointed out to me by other people on the table, I was singled out , it just so happens that me & my son are not from the UK.

One thing to say on her side she left the shop open a bit later because she didn’t advised we wouldn’t be able to eat on an...

I had great expectations of the happy teapot after a few friends recommending the range of vegan options. Unfortunately I was very very disappointed. Despite being quiet (with only two other tables of two there), our order took an age, and the staff had no idea who had ordered what. We ended up waiting for over twenty minutes for poached eggs on toast.

Also disappointing was the fact that the staff could not provide any allergen information, confusing dairy and soya, and not being able to advise what was safe for my children to eat despite this being a legal requirement of food outlets and restaurants since 2014. To add insult to injury, we were treated as if asking was a huge inconvenience.

I would have considered returning for second visit, had the high chair not been unsafe (nothing to hold the tray down) and had the staff not started cleaning around us with over an hour till their advertised closing time.

In their favour, the vegan milkshakes were delicious, but given my reaction and staff attitude, I'm slightly dubious about them being...

I have visited The Happy Teapot on a few occasions and every time felt very well taken care of. It's a hidden gem and one of my favourite places to visit! The food is delicious, with a great selection of food to choose from. They cater for everyone's dietary needs too which is always brilliant. Each time I have visited I have been welcomed by a team of friendly, happy and helpful staff - they are always there to make sure everything is okay for you from start to finish. The prices are amazing. Great value for money and the portion sizes are great. The cafe is doggy friendly too meaning the fur friends can come and relax too. I love the cafe decor and always feel very comfortable throughout my visit. They catered for my hen do back in January which was a big group but we all felt very at home in The Happy Teapot. I recommend this place to anyone....
